Day 1
First stop after checking into our hotel was to Platinium Mall to have my favorite Stew Pork Limb with Rice + Mango Sticky Rice.
We managed to grab plenty of clothes for xbd there..as well as for myself.
First loots from Changi Airport, Loewe Perfume + Clarins Stretchmark Cream for me and CK Eternity Perfume for dear.
Then we walked over to CentralWorld to grab Naraya bags which I am going to use as diaper bags as they are light and waterproof. The black color for this size went out and we got the red one instead to match the stroller. I also got a cute blue elephant for xbd.
Had dinner at one of the fancy Thai Restuarant there...the Pad Thai was yummy, so was the Lychee Tea, but portion is really not enough for hungry us.
We then crossed over to Big C where we intend to grab cheap toiletries. BKK sells toiletries at least 40% cheaper than SG. We had a trolley full of stuff from toiletries to snacks and water for our trip. Decided to take a Tuk Tuk back to hotel as the stuff were too heavy to carry.
Oh ya, the McCafe in BKK serves nice Matcha Frappucino which is similar to Starbucks but at half the price.
Day 2
Since I am travelling with a little one inside me, we decided to take it easy and leave Chatuchak for Day 3 when we are more well rested. So today was spent shopping in Pratunam Market in the morning where I grabbed more clothes (again!) for myself and my son. After depositing our stuff back in the hotel, we made our way to MBK.
Lunch was at Shabushi @ MBK, standard not as good as before..got cheap Wacoal bras at SGD$80+ for 5pcs. Followed by many bags for 199baht. Got shoes from the mall nearby. Dear got the bags he wanted. After the happy shopping, I went on to pamper myself with a Pedicure while Dear scout the IT Level in MBK.
We had dinner at this pizza place called The Pizza Company in MBK. They were having a promo for buy 1 get 1 free. So we got 2 pizzas for SGD$20+. Super worth it. I chose their cheesy crust pizza and its really nice and cheesy. Even the wings are nice. Will definitely visit again if i ever go back BKK.
Loots from 2nd Day
Day 3
Ventured to the famous Chatuchak Market armed with bottles of water and my mini fan. But its not enough to counter the heat at noon. We had to stop for a cold drink after 30mins of shopping. We bought tons of things at my favorite section in Chatuchak, around the clock tower. Make-shift vendors will setup their stalls around 3pm and you can grab really cheap stuff at 50% discount from their normal price. Bags from 100baht, T-shirts from 150baht etc. My favorite buys were 3 dresses for 150baht each. Just nice to fit my growing belly.
Dear left with tons of T-shirts, bermudas as well for himself. Haha..spent most of his money there and I had to "sponsor" him a T-shirt. Overall it was a fruitful but tiring trip. We were out of the place by 5pm and back to hotel to rest our poor legs.
I insisted that we visit Siam Paragon > for one reason. Krispy Kreme!! Had a craving for this sometime back but its not available in SG. So to satisfy my belated craving, we went back with 2 dozens of this yummy donut. We moved on to Chinatown next for our well deserved dinner...ordered Sharksfin, Oyster Egg and Crab with Tang Hoon. Had a fulfilling dinner which ended with a yummy bowl of Bird's Nest with Milk. First time i tried the milk version and its really nice.
Since its still quite early when we finished dinner, we moved on to Pat Pong to do some shopping. Haha...dear got a shock when he saw the AGs (Ah Gua) who are semi-transformed there.
Day 4
Did some last minute shopping at Pratunam and Platinium while Dear went to shop at his favorite Pantip Plaza where he bought his helicopter toy. Didn't get to buy much since I was only left with 2000 baht but was glad to get 3 nice dresses from this stall at the morning market which happens to be closing by the time we go out...200 baht each.
This ended my very tiring but fulfilling BKK Trip. Hope to visit again when our boy is old enough to walk himself.
