First time holding snowball.
When we can finally come down after being stuck there for 3 days...see the pretty houses covered with snow? Looks so fairytale like.
On our way to the city of love ~ Venice!!!
St. Marcs Square (hope the name is correct)
St. Marcs Square in the day....compared to the night one, this looks so much better.
The famous church.
Gondolas
Found this tiny shop selling gigantic pieces of nougats. Italy produces nougat. But its not cheap..about $3.50 EUROS per piece. But it tastes real yummy....too bad we can't find it again the next day...cos Venice is famous for its complex streets and alleys.
During our gondola ride....I was so sad our boatman did not sing for us.
Gelato galore~
Bridge of Sighs. Prisoners in the past would cross this bridge to be hang after they were convicted and they would let out a sigh cos its the last time they'll be able to see beautiful Venice.
Leaning Tower in Venice??
Venice is fast vanishing despite the numerous efforts to keep it afloat. And I am glad I managed to fulfill my wish of visiting it for once before it sink into the ocean. Hopefully there'll be a second or third time to come. Hehe..
Next destination ~ RoMa
Vatican City
The almost vanished Colosseum
Ancient Ruins of Rome ~ I was fascinated by how ancient people can build such magnificient structures without any modern technology. Each pillar is about 10 times my height!! And why do they need such tall entrances to each building anyway when romans are reputated to be quite short. I guess its because the entrances are meant for God to enter...and God is a giant I think. If only we can get to experience the glory of the roman empire ourselves...wow, that would be amazing.
Trevi Fountain ~ It is a legend that if you throw 3 coins into the fountain, you'll definitely come back to rome. I made my wish and hopefully it comes true...dear ran out of EURO small change when it was his turn...so he threw in 3 Singapore 10cent coins...lol.
Nice little place called Florence. You can't help being amazed by the beauty in Europe..even a small town which we passed by eludes such beauty and charm.
The holiday destination of the Rich & Famous ~ Nice & Monaco
My fav. beach after Changi Beach.
Royale Casino
The leaning tower of PISA ~ I wonder how this can be a world wonder when it is simply an architecture project gone wrong. What happened was this tower was suppose to be a bell tower for the church beside it, but as the architect did not calculate the soil texture of the site correctly, this caused the tower to lean...and a cement screed has been built to stop it from leaning. So I guess it should stay this way forever.
And finally ~ Paris!
The original Mona Lisa.
Many members in my group were anticipating to see Effiel Tower....so imagine our excitement when we finally got to see it. I have to agree, seeing it on pictures and seeing the actual thing is really different. But this is not as romantic as being in Venice.
Moulin Rouge
