New mummies would know that we don't have the luxury of really staying home for the entire confinement month. Trips to the doctor is almost unavoidable for newborn babies. I had to make numerous trips to KKH and the polyclinic due to Titus's jaundice issue. But thank God, his buribilin level has finally come down as his liver matures and the next visit is this friday together with his 2nd dose of Hep B injection. Pray that he can be discharged this friday.
Other than these visits to the doctor, we had a outing last sat to Bugis. Our CL came along as we were afraid we can't handle. It was a short but tiring trip. Although we were prepared with enough feeds, i was quite worried about Titus and din enjoy myself much. Guess the mental stress of bringing baby out for the first time contributes as well. I felt bad as CL & dear had to wait in burger king while i shop..so i ended my shopping quite fast.
2nd outing was just me, CL, maid and baby to Takashimaya. Again it was a short outing as i find it too much hassle to go out with so many people and a stroller and a diaper bag and a baby. But after seeing how some of the other mummies manage to do it alone, i am more confident of going out with Titus. Hence the 3rd outing was yesterday.
After feeding him at 9am, we brought a bottle of ebm for his 12pm feed. Yes, thank God his feeding time is quite predictable..its either 2 or 3hour depending on the qty he drank. We went to collect our photoshoot photos, followed by IKEA as i wanted to get some frames for the photos. Titus was well behaved throughout. Fed him at IKEA and he fell asleep. Then we ventured off to Marina Square. Latched him twice there..first time we couldn't find a nursing room, so i had to latch him at a corner of the mall...was quite uncomfortable as my nursing cover is kinda small. 2nd time was 5+ when we were at suntec. They have a well equipped nursing room there, so we were quite happy. I had the chance to shop comfortably and even had a nice lunch at the foodcourt. Best part is, no hassle of bringing milk powder, hot water or bottles..Titus can feed anytime, anywhere. LOL.
I am quite confident we'll be able to handle well even without the CL. Things will be even easier as he grows and we can bring him out using a baby carrier. This will be put to test on thursday when we had to bring him around to deliver his full month cakes. God Bless us!
