Going 20 weeks!

This will be my first letter to our baby xbd.

Hello my precious baby, by tomorrow you'll be officially 20 weeks old. Mummy has been feeling your kicks since week 17 i think, but it was not obvious until week 18. The past 2 days, i seem to have grasp the time you're sleeping and awake...you're most active at night after 10pm. That is when mummy will be resting on the couch and patting you. Sometimes playing music to you as well. You seem to really love the music as you're moving actively when you hear it. Papa has been trying to feel your kicks but you just seem to stay still whenever his hands is on mummy's tummy. Hehee..he is getting jealous cos only mummy can feel you. Sometimes you'll move slightly during lunchtime, seems to be telling mummy you're hungry and to go for lunch. Other than that, you've been a good boy so far. Oh ya, we found out you were a boy during the last visit to the doctor. You did really well when mummy told you to be a good baby, open your legs wide so that we can see your gender. The sonographer din have much difficulty telling us you came with a stick. But really naughtly as well cos you purposely covered your mouth with your hand when she is trying to scan your lips. And what's with the somersuat? Haha...performing for your parents? But its really good to know you're a active baby.

We are really happy to have you as our child and we've already bought a lot of gifts for you...which I've showed you one by one. Not sure if you could see it, but you'll get to use them at the end of 40 weeks. Mummy is looking forward to the day when I can hold you in my arms. In the next few weeks, i hope to feel you more regularly and the tummy will get bigger and more obvious. Hopefully papa will be able to feel you soon too. Just wanna let you know you're loved by many...us and your grandparents...we're all looking forward to meet you soon. Grow well and stay healthy...love you lots! Your Mummy.

Japan Trip 2010

Finally we got to step foot on the land of kawaii-ness! Thanks to the airfare promo from Malaysia Airlines, our flight to Tokyo costs only $380+ including taxes. A close couple friend also joined us for this trip. Another couple friend also happens to be going on the same flight. So it feels like an excursion for us. Shall let the pictures do the talking.

Collecting our JR passes at Narita Airport. We are heading straight to Kyoto for our first stop whereas our friend will be going Tokyo direct. We've decided to meet back in Tokyo on New Year's eve to countdown together.

Kyoto Tower.

Our ryokan which costs SGD$400 per night..expensive and not much service. Have to bring our luggage and climb the stairs. Only good thing is, it is walkable from Kyoto Station. But we took a cab on our first day since we dunno the way.

Japanese still wear traditional kimono to visit the shrines on important occasions. Happened to meet two young ladies there.

Next day, we made a day trip to Osaka to checkout the Kaiyukan Aquarium.

The main reason for this trip..they have a large Jellyfish collection.

Tickets to Kinkaguchi. Looks interesting doesn't it? The guard was very kind to let us in even though we arrived at 5pm (the shrine close at 5.15pm).

Then we proceed towards Gion. Kyoto's popular Geisha district. Hoping that we can meet some on the streets. I've heard many people did not manage to spot one even though they've been there. But we were fortunate to spot one young Geisha and her manager rushing off for a performance. They were stopped by some other tourists and we took the opportunity to ask for a photo as well. I had to help the manager carry his bag while he took photo for the other group of tourist. I was quite amazed that he trusted a total stranger like me with his belongings...well, of course all i wanted was a photo with his Geisha. Wish granted!

Tried out japan's exclusive ticket vending machine dinner. The beef bowl was yummy...better than Yoshinoya.

Bidding farewell from Kyoto, we embarked on the long journey towards Hokkaido. The bullet train journey from Kyoto to Hokkaido takes about 10 hours in total. But we din really mind as we can enjoy the scenary and chit chat with each other along the way. That's what holiday is about isn't it? Rather than rushing from point to point.

Was told that train bento is a must try in Japan. So we ordered ours before boarding the train.

Still cheerful. Something funny happened during the journey. I was separated from hubby for one journey and had to sit next to this Japanese lady. At one of the train stop, she started talking to me in Japanese...I thought she was being friendly and tried to reply her with my limited edition japanese. This went on for a while until she started to look desperate and looked around for help. It was then I realised what she was trying to tell me...this is the stop where we need to stand and rotate the seats...but silly me was still sitting down. She wanted me to stand up so that she can rotate the seats. I was so embarressed at that point..hahaa..but luckily Japanese is too polite to turn nasty on anyone.

Must try foods in Hokkaido!

Found this super delicious cheese puff in Otaru. I ate one there and had to buy one back to hotel. Too bad it can't be kept long..otherwise I'll order a dozen back. Be sure to try if you ever visit Otaru.

Hokkaido is known for its fresh and cheap seafood produce. So with recommendations from the internet, we tried out this popular crab seafood buffet at SGD$70+ per pax. You get to choose from 3 different combinations of crab. We chose the king & snow crab combo with 1 serving of sushi & chawanmushi. Of cos, we saved our stomach space to fit as much crabs as possible. Even though its a buffet, the crabs were fresh and very sweet. It was a yummy meal and we will definitely visit this restaurant again if we were go back to Hokkaido.

Just like the Tsukiji Market in Tokyo, Sapporo has its own version of fish market as well with fresh catch from the sea everyday.

This is what started our day. It was not difficult to find out the best restaurant...just choose the one which is most crowded. I tasted the freshest uni and sashimi there. Even the roe tastes different from Singapore ones.

This is not ninja. He is actually a monk asking for donations. Its cool even being a monk in Japan.

We also checkout the Ramen Alley in Sapporo. There is a ramen alley in most cities in Japan. I still prefer the localised AOBA ramen in Singapore though.

Bidding farewell to Hokkaido, we left for Tokyo next. Shopping here i come!

Accomplished a small wish of mine - Sanrio Puroland! The hometown of Hello Kitty & my favourite - My Melody!

Cute japanese young girl...I like how japanese dress their kids...plain but innocent. Unlike certain parents here who dress up their kids as if they were a christmas tree. This is one style I hope to use for my future kids.

After Sanrio Land, we definitely had to accomplish a childhood dream. Disneyland! Its our first time to any DisneyLand and despite the long queues, we were glad to be able to take a few rides...including the Haunted Mansion ride which I still think is the best! Japanese are really advanced in their technology. Checkout this ride to know what I mean.

Fukuburokos from Harajuku. Fukuburoko which means Happy Bag in japanese is only available during the New Year period. Stores pack last season's items into goody bags and sell them for a attractive price. Only thing is we can't see what is the content. But some stores are kind enough to display a sample of items you'll get and its sizes (for clothes). I went crazy buying these as I find them really value for money. The pink luggage from Liz Lisa cost 10,000Yen but has a value of 20,000Yen. Super worth it!

Have been neglecting this blog for so long. But I've decided to blog once again as this is a new chapter in our lives which i want to remember for as long as i can.

2011 was an eventful year for us.

- We got our very own landed property - across the causeway in Malaysia.
- Rented out our HDB to a nice couple.
- Got 'retrenched' for the first time in my working life. But was asked to come back almost immediately. Shifted office & quitted my job.
- Hubby asked to transfer to another department in his work.
- Mummy got admitted again due to fall.
- Mummy was diagnosed with last stage breast cancer.

It's not exactly a smooth sailing year for us but God is good to us still. Although we have been hoping for a child, it wasn't something urgent until news of my mother's cancer was announced. It impacted me greatly and I felt sad that she might have to leave this world even before she could see her grandchild. I told hubby about my thoughts and he agreed with me. Hence, we decided to start ttc with our 'own efforts'.

Around June 2011, we decided to visit KKH just to find out if everything is ok with us. Results were good but somehow baby dust did not rain on us. Desperate to give mummy a grandchild, we decided to go for IUI procedures. I was prescribed Clomid pills with Puregeon Injections. It was a short but painful process as I have to inject myself continuous for 4 days. In the midst of this, a close friend came over to visit one day and shared her story of how she became pregnant (she just conceived about 2 months ago). She told us how she struggled 7 years ttc. Just when she was about to give up, she decided to go back to church for one sunday and God spoke to her through the message. Her story is pretty similar to us. Once a devoted Christian, I've left church for close to 10 years. Her story woke me up..maybe using my own effort is futile..nobody can grant life except for the Creator, isn't it?

Me & hubby decided to finally show up for our date with God. One that was late by 5 years (we once promised to visit a church near our place when we first got married, but never came to doing so). I was secretly hoping for a message during the sermon as well...but it turn out to be a normal preach. However, God's prescence touched me during the service and I wept. I prayed hard for God to hear my prayers and answer it..for time is running short.

The following week, I was suppose to return to KKH to check on the development of my folicles. They need at least 3 mature folicles before we can proceed with the IUI procedure. It was a lonely and depressing wait everytime I visit the IUI-IVF centre at KKH as hubby was not with me. I saw many couples with the hope of having a child coming here..but only to leave disappointed. When it was my turn, results showed i have 15 folicles which were matured. I was rather happy to hear this since this means i have matured eggs to be fertilized. However, there was no good news from the doctor. Doctor said we cannot proceed as too many mature folicles could result in multiple pregnancies which might be dangerous for the mummy and the babies. Of course I wouldn't mind twins, but triplets or quadrants were quite scary. She even advised me not to have unprotected sex at home for next 1 week as risks is still there. I was really disappointed as this means I've suffered all the pain for nothing and we have to go through another round next month.

While on the way home, I started praying to God. If it is God's will to give me a child, even if the doctor says otherwise, I'll still have a child.

Cut the story short, we were too caught up with our house shifting thereafter that I totally forgot my menses was late. It wasn't always regular so I simply brushed it aside thinking it must be due to the stress from all these shifting that cause it to be late. 1 week passed..and 2 weeks...i started having menses like cramps but menses never came. I decided to do a pregnancy test at our new house one morning...and this is what I saw. (The 2nd test and ultrasound scan was from the next day when we visited the gynea).

I squealed with joy from the toilet when i saw the plus sign. This woke up silly hubby who is still in lala-land. He asked me what happened and I showed him the stick. It took him a while to realise what is happening. And first thing he asked was, 'am i really going to be a father?'

We decided to visit a gynea the next day just to confirm. I made hubby pay for a 2nd pregnancy test kit just to be sure. And we were elated to find out xbd is 6 weeks, 4 days old by then! And with God's blessings, its a single foetus. Don't need to worry about triplets...

Our baby at 13 week during the Oscar Scan. The results were very good. Baby is perfectly normal and healthy. Like every parent, we were overjoyed during the scans when we saw xbd move and hear the heartbeat. I can't believe there is a life within me...and it feels what I feel and eats what i eat. (Teaching it to love durian btw since I need to put on weight).

Now I am excitingly looking forward to feel xbd move inside me..i did experience 2 kicks at week 14...but not sure if its from xbd. But he did change position 180 degree after the 2 kick. Also, we'll be able to find out the gender at the next visit. Because this child is from God, I have been blessed with a very smooth 1st trimester. Other than feeling lethargic, I did not shun from any food and no serious vomitting. Was also blessed that I was serving my notice then..so I could rest a lot at home. To all couples who're hoping for a child...Rest & Let God do His work...because only He can give the gift of life. We are really glad to receive this gift from Him and pray for a smooth pregnancy and delivery and a healthy chubby baby at the end of 40 weeks. 110 days down...170 more to go!

Malacca & Cameron Trip Aug 2010

We had a short holiday to Malaysia early Aug. Much needed break after our last BKK trip in April. We made a stop at Malacca to have breakfast, as most shops are not opened yet, we paid a visit to Cheng Ho Museum. Boring place to me but dear is fascinated by such places. Our guide there was funny though..kept trying to scare us. We made it a point to have the delicious Gula Malacca Chendol. Din get to try the mutton soup recommended, but i'll be back someday to try. After a long drive, we finally arrived at Cameron around 4pm, at the risk of running out of petrol. Silly dear refused to pump along the expressway, and we ran out of petrol before we even reach the first town...lucky for reserve tank...we made it to the nearest petrol station. Cameron this time round was cold and nice...unlike previous trips where the sun was too hot. I enjoyed the cool weather and the fresh clean air. The view from our hotel was fantastic. We spent our 2 days there touring plantations, having steamboat for dinners and basically laze our day away. We should really do more of this...great way to destress and recover energy. I really miss the fried mushrooms and sweet potato balls we bought at brinchang market...yummy. Since i did not plan to shop for this trip, we ended the trip with lunch in Ipoh - the famous beansprouts chicken. I hated the chicken, too tough for me. But the beansprouts were good. This is my first time to Ipoh, but don't think I'll be back...it seems like another boring town. Then on our way back, we had Satay Celop at Capitol in Malacca. A lot of Singaporeans were there. As it was a Sunday night, there was a long queue. We waited close to 2h for our seat. Overall conclusion, not worth the wait. I've tried better satay celop during my last trip...shall go there in future.

Some winter gadgets for my Japan trip...love the white cotton cap..its real comfy and warm. And the scarf just to add some design to a plain outfit. I ordered some other stuff from Taiwan, hopefully it can arrive before my trip.

Am into over-size Tees nowadays and managed to find a nice piece from F21..its the 2nd pc i bought from there..but its affordable...$28 i think.

Wanted to buy the blouse version for this but no more stock, so i bought this dress at a super good deal...about $18.

This is recommended by my colleague..she used it and the results were quite obvious...so i went to hunt high and low for the color i want...love the end results though not too obvious as my hair was not bleached..but its a cheap diy. Only $18.90 at the shop i bought.

Had some serious breakouts and the pimple scar just won't go away...so bought this at the airport dfs ..its the cheapest spot corrector i can find..$29.90. After using for a few months..don't really see any significant results...shall google and find out which brands is good and try that instead.

Oxy mask is becoming increasingly popular..there is one at SASA which costs $100+. I saw this retailing for only $30+ and claims to have as good results. Tried it and for the first week, it did make my face supple and moisturised...but somehow after a while, it seems to lose its effect or maybe cos i became lazy from using it. hee.

Taiwan Trip Cont'd

Went to Taroke on one of the day. It was a long and winding journey there but the view when we arrived was worth the journey. It is amazing that such nature made beauty exists just a short distance away from modern civilization.

Our guide was really considerate and decided to let us walk the shortest distance.

This valley was caused by earthquake and volcano eruption. The river was grey in color due to the cement residue in the river. Natural cement...

Dinner was at this place made solely out of wood. The food was yummy and portion was big. But as this place was quite ulu..we prepared instant noodles for supper.

Too bad we only stayed a night there but it was a great experience...i tried the public hot spring and it feels like hot swimming pool..that's all. Guess I should try the sulphur type someday. View outside the hotel.

Lunch was at this place called "Dong Po Zhui Yue". Nice and artistic restaurant. And they serve ala-cart buffet..I like.

Some of the dishes we ate...wished we had more time to spend there but everyone seems to be in a hurry to leave so we left without really being full.

Next, we proceeded to Fo Guang Shan. I am not really keen in temples during trips but this was included in the tour.

They had this gigantic statue of the Buddha there and this wishing well with a Gong...hehe..I managed to hit the Gong 3 times...it is rumoured that if you hit it 3 times, your wish will come true.

Next, we went to take the Bullet train to Tainan...something which I was looking forward to in this trip.

From Taipei to Kaoshiung, it only takes 55mins..which normally it may take 10 over hours by bus. Our journey was a short 15mins but it was cool to experience the bullet train. Ride was smooth and fast..no feeling of travelling at high speed at all. This train can travel up to 200km/hr. I was told the one in japan can travel up to 300km/hr. Wow.

The interior of the train. Did you know the seats rotate to face whichever direction the train is travelling? Hehe..I was worried about getting train sick for a moment if I need to sit backwards.

Station was indicated clearly so no worries of getting lost.

We are staying on a farm in Tainan. The resorts here were made out of natural oak and our guide kept emphasizing on the 'wood therapy' of the resort since the bed was specially imported from japan and made of wood as well.

Happy to see the large beds but don't enjoy it at all. Its so hard that its probably better to sleep on the floor. I don't feel comfortable at this resort at all since the place was quite ulu and the rooms were dark and not comfy.

The farm had many of this trees which emitted an awful smell which attracts flies..y flies? Cos this tree uses flies to help them spread their seeds..y not bees? Well, guess it wanted to be different. But I hated the smell...couldnt get it out of my head even after we left that place and I complained to the staff there non-stop about why anyone would plant such a horrible smelling tree.

Minus the horrible smell, I finally had a chance to smell something nice..Gui Hua. Used to drink this drink and the flower really smells good...thank God for it cos it helped to counter off some smell from the flies tree. We had fireworks the night before..nothing great but it was a nice experience...guide said as we're too near the expressways, we can't release Kong Ming Deng...hopefully we'll have a chance to do that when we visit Taiwan next time.

Along the way to Alishan, we stopped by this 地久 bridge. I dragged dear to walk through it with me...but we were both scared of heights and this kind auntie had to comfort us saying that not to worry, the bridge is safe. Haha..there is another 天长 bridge on the hill but too bad its closed, so we can't walk it..but I wouldn't want to walk it too..its too high up and dangerous.

After a tiring mountain journey, we arrived at Alishan.

Taiwan Trip Day 2

Day 2 started with a tour to a "fruit farm". Actually they only grow tomatos and strawberries. I tried a sample of the tomato and it was really juicy. Very nice and doesn't have the sour taste at all.

I like the nostalgic mood of Jiufen in this rainy season. Very chilling but brings about a different atmosphere.

Our hotel for day 2 was at this place just beside the sea. There were 2 weddings going on at the same day and we manage to steal a glimpse of the brides n grooms. One couple was quite good looking though..reminds me of our wedding..hehe.

Taiwan Trip 27th Mar - 6th April

Been back for around 2 weeks and I really miss Taiwan. Actually I miss any place that I don't have to work. Hehe.. Nevertheless, Taipei was fun, the sweet ending to the end of our 11 days Taiwan Tour. We went to Taoyuan, Ilan, Hualian, Kaoshiung, Tainan, Taichung and Taipei within this short period. Weather in Taipei was weird when we were there, super cold now day, and the next day you can walk out in short sleeves, then cold again the next day. Only part that pissed me off was the hotel we booked ourselves in Taipei, super lousy and cramp. Here is the photo diary of our 11 days tour.

We stayed in a golf resort on the first night. Guess what I spotted early morning the next day.

Sakura!! So pretty in pink. This was our first and only close encounter with a full bloom tree of sakura. The sakura in other parts of Taiwan were more or less withered when we reached there. So sad..but dear promised to bring me to Japan to see the real deal in time to come.

Trip to Jurong BirdPark

Got conned by STB to visit Jurong Birdpark...suppose to have free tix, but when we arrive, all free tix were already given out and its only 10+ in the morning. Anyway, we spent $42 to get 2 adult tickets.

It has been ages since I visited the birdpark..since Primary School i think. So was quite excited to recall how it looks like.

Entered this enclosure where birds are allowed to roam freely. These are lovebirds and we can buy some sort of oatmeal to feed them. Its really sweet cos I wanted to stroke one of them...and that bird moved away..its partner, seeing her move away, moved over as well to be close to her...hehe..reminds me of dear and me...dear will always come over to whichever room I am at when he discover I am missing from his sight. Unfortunately before we could venture further, it started to rain. Hope I can come back to this sanctuary again.

Managed to take this pic of an owl in the owl enclosure..its not easy as the enclosure is super dark and no flash is allowed. We were suppose to keep very quiet and not to use flash since owls are super sensitive to light and sound. However, some idiotic kids were talking at their loudest voice and some similar idiotic adults (probably parents of these idiotic kids) were using flash on their cameras like nobody's business. I showed my displeasure in front of one such adult as the numerous flash from his camera phone was obviously causing discomfort to one poor owl. I hate such people who don't spare a thought for animals..they already lose their freedom in order to be "viewed" by stupid humans, and we have to add on to their misery.

A unwelcome guest at the roof of this sanctuary. Guess its too afraid to move anywhere or its probably enjoying the suntan.

Valentine Day 2009

Another date for double celebrations. It was our monthly anniversary, hubby's birthday and valentine day. As usual, everywhere will be super packed and dinners would be super expensive. So, we decided to go somewhere special this year for our dinner.

First part of the celebrations started with the dinner I prepared for hubby. The last time i did up a special dinner was when we first got our house..think we shld do this more often cos its super special and not too ex. Anyway, I went home in the afternoon to do the marketing. Total expenses is only around $30.

Appetizer is Italian Style Scallop..I named it, "You are my Sun." cos the scallop happens to be orange color.

Main course..Pork Ribs with Teriyaki Style Cod Fish, breaded scallops and corn. Yummilicious but serving was too much.

Desserts.

The setting. I think I did a pretty good job with the setting. There was strawberry scented candle-light, rose petals, music in the background and our dimmed spot light. Beats any atas restaurant hands-down. And most important it is much cheaper!

Next day, its dear's turn to plan the day. Started with shopping at Orchard. Free ice-cream to start our sweet day.

We ventured out of Singapore for our dinner. Took a lot of effort to print the maps and google for this place cos we couldn't find it the first time. But thank God, we found it on our 2nd attempt this round - Orang Asli Seafood Restaurant.

Food quality is not that good i feel...the taman sentosa market is much better. But for the view and experience, it was quite worth it. Our dinner with mantis prawn, drunken prawns, cheese calamari and lala only cost us around RM$80 ~ SGD$38.

After dinner we decide to venture somewhere new..discovered this place...we use to have 2 of this in Kallang Leisure Park. This is a cheap alternative to KTV. Costs RM$1 per song ~ SGD$0.40.

Their supermarket is really different, things are sold in the cartons...canned food, drinks etc. Guess its because Malaysia is quite big so its not easy to visit the supermarket every week. If I stay in Malaysia, I'll need a super big fridge to store all these food. Everything else there reminds me of Giant..even prices were rather similar.

Just read on someone's blog where she post photos of the flowers her hubby gave to her. Flowers on almost every special occasion..he even gave her a bouquet just to thank her for being his wife. The last time i got flower from tete...hmm...i can't remember the exact date. think it was on last last christmas..i've always loved to receive flowers but since getting married, i've told him not to waste precious money on such useless stuff...but being a gal that loves romance...i can't help feeling jealous or even disappointed whenever i read about the romance stuff other guys did for their gal..sighxz....

Chinese New Year Celebrations

CNY suxs this year as 初一 falls on a Monday. That means..official public holiday is only until Tues. Our office gave us a force leave on Wed..so that means only 3 short days to rest and play. Unlike previous years, we did not gamble at all this year. Dun wan to waste any money ma..times are quite bad ..especially after my paycut which was announced shortly after CNY. Suxs..i hate this co. Wished they havnt bought over us.

Anyway back to happier things...cny celebrations!

Visited Chinatown on CNY Eve. Super packed as usual but less stalls and people buying. Another sign from the recession.

We also visited the wet market in Chinatown...they just reopen after renovation. I miss the food there especially this stall. They sell chinese porriage and chinese style sashimi.

I have always lead a simple life. Simple in thinking, simple in living, not pondering too much what I want in life nor plan for my future.. However, things start to get a little complicated after marriage.. Although I can't remember what privileges I had signed away during our solemnization ceremony then, vividly.. vows such as "love you through happiness or sickness" do come floating on my mind. Hence, I always tell myself that I must give my dear the best things in life and to bring her xin fu. Sounds great eh.. however, things are slightly different in reality.. I am always falling behind my dear's expectations. No matter how hard I tried, how fast i moved.. I am just not "good enough". And worst, my face seems to fit nicely in whatever fault my dear can find in her life. However, I am telling you(dear) now that I am not giving up. No matter how far I fall behind, how difficult things can be.. I will continue to fight on.

This post is for my venting. Just got hinted by manager that i need to give more leads. In the first place, not as if the other team gives a lot of leads. And what did she do to deserve being a manager?? And me..all my years of slogging like a fool...i've gained nothing! Not even a subordinate under me...and that stupid black gorilla...he wants to claim credit for everything, wants to kpo in everything and yet still try to act friendly. SHIT!!!

Why is every tom, dick n harry going into marketing?? Havnt u guys anything better to do?? Why come into this field and snatch my jobs?? Maybe i should venture into something no one else has done..i dream of the day when i can break free of all these..no more 9-6pm job...and earn lotsa money...sianzzz...hate this life.

Treetop Walk

Although this place is really near where we stay and I pass by it almost everyday on my way to work, we never really had the time to visit it. So I suggested visiting it today.

We parked our car at Macritchie reservoir and walked a super long way to reach the treetop walk. Surprisingly, there's such a big patch of forest surrounded by civilization. Almost as big as the forest in ubin.

I was even more surprised to find out this jungle track can lead you all the way to Bukit Timah Hill. Perhaps I'll try cycling there next time..walking is just too tedious.

After walking for close to 2 hours, we finally reached!!

Christmas Celebrations

This is a long overdue post. We did something special this christmas...invited some close friends over for a potluck party. It was a great party with good food and great company. We also had the chance to visit Orchard Road for its christmas lightings prior to the day.

Christmas lightnings in orchard getting from bad to worse...prob cutting budget due to economy. 2008 is probably the year with least xmas mood.

The creme brulee is super delicious!! I had 3 cups myself. Would have eaten more if i wasn't so full then. Miss it so much.

wahhhaa...just met dear for lunch and after that i made my way to bugis junction to plan my surprise for him...bought a dozen donuts with my own hand written "i love u". Hehe..

it is on the way to him now..wonder wats his expression when he sees it..even comes with a customised card i designed..think he mus be sick of receiving cards i designed cos i am not a believer of spending few bucks on those overpriced greeting cards..and i feel that cards i designed are much nicer and more personalized. anyway, can't wait to see his expression..wahhahaa..he is not online though, hopefully he'll be around to receive it later.

This year we celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. But we plan to celebrate christmas eve with some close friends, therefore, we'll only be celebrating our wedding anniversary on christmas day. I've already made plans for it last month..a rough idea of how we're spending it.

Dear's present for me...shopping spree in the day. Since he has already given up on what to buy for me, he lets me choose my own presents.

I only have one item which i wanna buy as of now...a maxi dress from m|phosis.

Dinner will be at a buffet place which we always wanted to go...The Line. Its seafood nite on christmas day...so we get to eat lobsters, oysters etc. Yummy~

Dear is already hinting on the present he wans...a wireless headset..hmm..but kinda ex. Cos i am paying for the dinner...so am thinking of just getting him something cheap. I intend to send him a surprise gift in the morning..hee...

New York Trip

Long overdue post as we returned from NYC in Sep. Overall its quite a boring trip as dear was not with me most of the time and I had nowhere to go other than Times Square (the only shopping place in NYC). But a few incidents that happened there was quite romantic..dear and I almost lost each other in the big city, but somehow with our telepathy, we met finally..and hugged each other tightly when we meet..sweet~

I first started my shopping spree at Japan stopover..was there for transit and I couldn't resist buying the famous 白色恋人 chocolate biscuits and other pretty goodies~ makes me yearn for my next year japan trip..there is so much to buy!!

Finally reached NYC after a 17 hour long flight. Visited the famous street of the world..when we were there, economy was at its worst and this street was featured on the news everyday..too bad we din get to go on any BBC or CNN..

This gigantic pizza slice was for 1 person..we saw 2 thin gals ordering a whole pizza!! Imagine, 6 slices of this giant!! And as expected, they couldn't finish it..no wonder the world is getting shortage of food..just see how the Americans are wasting it.

We went down to the Apple store too..was so tempted to get the cheap iPhone but can't. But the Apple store there is nice with a glass cube entrance, glass lift and glass stairs.

Other places we visited were Statue of Liberty, Empire State Tower, Ground Zero etc..been there, done that. So don't think I'll ever visit USA again..unless its fully paid for~ haha.

Our renovation is finally approaching the end...ID say this sat will be handover if nothing goes wrong! Yippeee...finally we get to move back to our own house after 2 months of bunking in with mum.

This is the latest batch of baby bunnies from Cookie & Oreo..there was suppose to be a white color bunny with black eyes (my fav. from the litter) but she've passed away. Me and dear have decided that our hectic lifestyles makes us unsuitable to be pet owners..i know..just an irresponsible excuse...but i guess we have to see the bigger picture..since we can't give them 100% of our time..perhaps they'll be better off with a new owner. The grown up rabbits were released into a place where we feel is safe and has lots of food (grass) for them.

This batch of rabbits was given to our parents and 2 were sold to the pet shop..hopefully they'll find a good owner and nothing bad will happen to them. I'll miss them and will always have a place in my heart for them.

Met dear for a wind down nite at Orchard on friday..decided to visit a jap restaurant which we've not been to before..Sushi Tei!

I had this constant craving for jap food since we came back from NYC..thanks to the yummy cold soba that ANA served on our flights. Anyway, finally got a chance to try the dragon roll that I've read about on so many people's blog. My conclusion: its yummy!! But the service at sushi tei suxs though..i requested for them to serve the don which i ordered for dear later cos he is late, but they still brought the food to my table..i had to answer them in the midst of my mouthful of food to serve the food later...and the waitress, without saying anything, walked away with the food..shortly after, another waitress brought the same food back and tried to tell me the food is already cooked...maybe its my fault for the incoherent speech...but i've already given clear instructions to serve the food later when i placed my order!! Anyways, they brought back the food and seem to have kept it somewhere first...cos they served back the same food when dear finally arrived.

My review for this restaurant is...go only for the dragon roll...great deal @ $14 per serving..that's what i'll do in future.

My 28th Birthday

Sobx...one year older...once i hit the big 3O, i'll stop announcing my age. My birthday celebration starts on the 14th.

On my birthday, dear brought me for a ride around the world.

Met dear at Millenia Walk. Dear had booked this tickets last year...super kiasu huh. Initially I thought it'll be for v'day (happened to peeped this in his email account). Hehe. It was a fast but nice ride..managed to catch part of the sunset view..then it was dinner at Popeyes! Yummilicious fried chicken..so much better than KFC.

After dinner, we proceeded to Marina Square where I began my birthday spreeee. After numerous failed attempts to get me a gift I like, dear decided to let me choose my own pressies instead. This year, I get to have 28 presents since I am turning 28. The first one was given 2 months back..the WII Fit board! So I went on a quick round of shopping spree since the shops will be closing soon. Bought 2 clothes from M|phosis and ended the night with a free birthday firehouse from Swensens! Thumbs up to Swensens for this great birthday treat!

Day 2 started around noon cos dear refuses to get out of bed. We wanted to visit bugis followed by orchard but ended up only have enough time for bugis cos we need to rush off to somewhere else for dinner. Bought a few tops and dress. Dear surprised me with a beautiful dress and shoes that I could wear to dinner later..yippeee...but I am too fat for the dress i guess..sad..need to diet.

Reminds me of Monaco which we visited during our honeymoon..missed that period..just the 2 of us in a foreign land..cold but romantic. Hee..next trip coming up ~ NYC!

Dinner was at a beautiful place...food was average...luckily I ordered a fish dish which is not too bad. The main surprise came after dinner when dear brought me to Science Centre...the memory of the Snow City event still stays...so I thought we're going there again..but nope..dear brought me to the observatory where we got to see Jupiter via the telescope. Cool!! First time I see a real planet!! Now I am a space fanatic..can't wait to get my own telescope soon...

On sat, we went back home cos the workers are coming to dismantle some stuff..din know we have so much stuff that can savage...dear took almost everything that can be taken..haha..his logic..dun waste. Now our house is almost empty..just like when we first got it...reno starts in 11 days...can't wait!!

Unveiling our dream kitchen

After nights of cracking my brain, we managed to come up with the ideal design for our kitchen which looks great and also practical..we even purchased a dishwasher from a online seller last night...at a great price..best thing is I managed to sell off some items and it helped to cover some of the cost..hopefully i'll be able to sell off more things to replenish the cost for the dish washer..the washer looks great..just hope that it'll work as well.

Our fridge and new dishwasher will be concealed inside this cabinet so that the kitchen will not look cluttered.

The full glass wall gives the feeling of space but yet keeps the smoke and oil in from the cooking. So i won't have to worry about mopping the whole house when i do some serious cooking..yippeee...

Decided to do away with the initial bar counter and switch to a counter at the end of the kitchen where we can sit for a quick breakfast, enjoy the balcony's view with our rabbits hoping around and do some work on our laptop. Cool~

In the effort to create a non-conventional kitchen for our house, we will be doing a full height cabinet in the kitchen..my idea is to hide all clutter..including our fridge which is kinda out of the way into this cabinet. A waste cos our F&P fridge looks quite nice..but i still prefer a simple and clean look for the house.

Will be using black tinted mirror..but the normal mirror effect looks good as well. Anyway I found out price difference not much..so will be using black mirror so that it matches our black glass backsplash.

New family members

We welcomed 5 new members into our family some time back. Unfortunately one of them couldn't make it... :(. But nevertheless, we still have 4 little bundle of joy with us.

Can you recognise who they come from?

Yup...they belong to Cookie & Oreo...but strangely there's only one pure white and one pure black in the pack..the rest all look like cookie. No wonder they say children takes after their mother's looks. The pure black little one couldn't survive..but we're glad the rest all survived and are all healtly growing. They'll soon take over our entire balcony and we will see dozens of rabbits hoping around..hehe..just kidding.

Been reading so many reviews about this restaurant online and finally we have the chance to go there for our anniversary dinner. Time flies and we've already been together for 4 years.

Ordered this as the appetizer..Foie Gras..first time i tried this but its really yummy...taste like duck meat which melts in your mouth..yummy~

Business Trips - KL & Bangkok in June 2008

Been a while since I last update here.

Went on 2 overseas trip due to work...first to Bangkok and then KL. The trip to BKK was fun cos I did some furniture shopping..saw many modern furniture at dirt cheap price as compared to SG but unfortunately the salesgirl refused to sell us their display set and the new stock takes 2-3 weeks to reach. But we still managed to get 2 great looking barstools at only $340 for 2! A similar design at AirDivision cost $400+ for one.

Lemming for me...only $90+ per pc...who can help me buy??

Tried this shabu shabu buffet at CentralWorld..we mistook the white squids for noodles..only after it curled up in the soup then we realise...hehe...but i love the meat~

My favorite buffet in BKK..it serves steamboat items on a conveyor belt..it serves free flow pig kidney!! Yippeeee...only disadvantage is we're only given 1.5hrs to eat..but for S$12..its well worth the price.

Had to travel to KL alone for a event. Except for tiring, its not that bad...my room had a great view of KL Twin Towers!

Did a short trip to Chinatown in KL where I had my favorite Mata Kuching...this was served in small metal bowls in the past..now they have upgraded to papercups..

Appetizer ~ Quesidillas

My main course ~ Carborana Penne...too creamy for my liking..and tasteless.

Dear's main course ~ Cajun Chicken...not nice too.

Spent $50+ there..not worth it in my opinion..but the service and ambience is not bad. Great place for drinks I guess.

We went for the Noble House buffet with my in-laws..great food at a great price $32++. But need min. 4pax to go...I wanna go again...hungree just by looking at the pics..Haha..I am such a glutton.

We got it during our last bangkok trip..it contains all the love that dear has for me...love it too.

Dressed up our Harrolds bear..cos he is always in uniform..so we gave him a nice nitegown so that he can rest with us.

We managed to find time to go down to the recent King's Factory Sale..and also the first time we spent $60+ on ice-cream alone. But all these are super yummy...we can have ice-cream for breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper! LOL. But now overate..must diet.

Something good happened to me recently..so decided to give dear a treat. We tried something different..Authentic Indian Food...super yummy except for the mutton kebab..too spicy.

We kept repeating this advertisement phase while on our way there..."One butter Chicken..can I have your address pls? Singapore? Isit a suburb?? Wat?? A different country? Hey...Mumbai na..India~!" Hehe...try saying this and shake your head like a indian.

Anyway, this is the legendary Butter Chicken..yummy too!

We had nan instead of rice..surprisely this is yummy and filling too. I just love dough made stuff...so the rice scare doesn't worry me much.

Looks yucky but super yummy...Spinach with Cheese..but no taste of cheese though. I'll surely revisit Little India again for yummy indian cuisine.

I have not been in a very good mood for the past 2 weeks..in fact, it can be considered as bad mood. Reasons: both the interviews i went to failed. This greatly affected my confidence and morale level. Guess I set my expectations too high and is now suffering the consequences. I try hard not to think that my life is bad..but whenever I think of people around me, some of them seem to lead such blessed life...never having to worry about money or jobs. For me, I grew with the fear of not having enough to support myself..and having no degree qualifications, my current position seems to be the peak of where I can go. I felt the same way around this time last year too...but God blessed me with a salary increment but somehow for this year, I feel that I might not be so lucky again..and unless I move on, or I might risk losing this job and my income. My greatest fear is what is going to happen if I stop working and dear's income is not enough to support the family? Why is the already difficult life getting harder? Sometimes I wish time can just fast forward and go to the stage where I am already old and going to die...so that I dun hv to go through this process. Life is no good when you constantly have worries..time flies so fast but most time is spent worrying..by the time you realise it, too late. I know all these logic...but I lament...why am I not born into a rich family or have a rich husband? Why can't i do the work that I enjoy without worrying about the salary portion? Why isit that some people can spend millions just on renovating their bungalow and we can't even afford a 50K reno?? Its really tough being a human...

I miss Twinkle..only she can cheer me up now.

Bangkok Trip 20 - 24.03.08

Fun times always pass so fast...I am back from the shopping paradize. This trip has been the most extravagant of all my bangkok trips. I spent the most this time and shopped without much constraits becos I think this'll be the last trip to bkk for a long long time...i wanna use the money to see the rest of the world. We set off on a bright afternoon...but alighted at the wrong terminal..i thought all budget airlines fly from the budget terminal except for JetStar but I was wrong...so we end up having to take the shuttle bus from Budget Terminal to Terminal 1 to board our plane. It was my first time visiting budget terminal too and its realli budget..looks like an empty warehouse.

DAY 1 - Flying off to Bangkok
It'll be our first and last time taking airasia..if we do take a second time, i'll surely buy the Express Boarding pass. I've heard stories about bad experience with kiasu people and AirAsia and I finally withness it for myself. Those who thought Singaporeans are the only kiasu people in this world should experience taking AirAsia. When we entered the boarding zone, there were Ang Mos, Dark skin people whom I think are phillipinos or indonesians sitting at the first row nearest to the boarding gate. 10 mins before the gate is opened, one AA staff walked towards the boarding gate and everyone started walking, running over to crowd at the gate. Within a short span of 5 seconds, almost everyone was standing at the gate. And the gate is not even open yet!! So there we were, shocked and stuck in the midst of the crowd. The poor people who paid the extra bucks for express boarding have to squeeze through this mad crowd to get to the boarding gate. Once the gate opens for normal boarding, you can see those people running down the aisle without even letting the AA staff check their boarding pass. The poor staff have to stop the plane from flying to check the boarding pass of some of the passengers. The journey towards bkk was smooth though and we arrived on time. Best part was, the drinks and food on board the plane was in Thai Baht. Drinks cost about 30baht ~ SGD$1. Compared to JetStarAsia which charge in SGD, this is considered really cheap. Bad part was, they do not have everything featured on their menu..i ended up having to buy their cup noodles cos was really hungry, and even their seafood noodles is spicy. Wierd.

We have to alight somewhere away from the main airport and take their shuttle bus to the main terminal.

Upon reaching BKK airport, like wat some forummers mentioned, we went up to the Departure Hall to take a taxi and saved on the 50baht tax. Hehe...by the time we reached our hotel, its close to 6pm BKK time.

The hotel lobby of Baiyoke Boutique. The location was excellent! Its just behind Baiyoke Sky..so its super near to Pratunam and you don't have to pay a 4-star price.

We were given a room with two single beds although I've requested for a double bed. And the room faced the railway track..so i din have a good sleep for the first 2 nights. The aircon also change temp by itself. Good thing we requested for a change of room on the 2nd night and was given a better room not facing the railway track and have a double bed. As we've stayed in worse hotels during our Europe Trip so this hotel is quite acceptable for us. The breakfast provided was quite ok too..our fav. was the ommelette and sausage.

Our first dinner at Suan Loom Night Market. The Tang Hoon - Glass Noodle with Crab is super delicious..we still crave for it after we came back. This market is still pretty much alive and shows no signs of closing..unlike the rumors spreading around on the net.

DAY 2 - Chinatown & MBK

Heard some recommendations online that Sampheng sells cheap stuff so we went to take a look. Nothing much except for wholesale of hair accessories. Bought some Hello Kitty stuff there. Quite cheap as compared to buying individual elsewhere. Only thing is you have to buy 6pcs of anything to get wholesale price.

Since there is nothing much at Sampheng, we went down to MBK earlier to do our shopping. Donuts galore~ but not really nice..SG donuts are still nicer.

The legendary Mango with Sticky Rice. I have it 4 times while in BKK. Mango is super sweet!!

DAY 3 - Chatuchak & PatPong
We were well prepared for this famous spot. Armed with our fan, ice water, shorts, trolley bag and caps, we set off for Chatuchak early in the morning. Reason for being early, some shop owners believe that clinching the first deal smoothly would give them a smooth business day ahead. But alas, we were wrong cos there were not much discount for my first few buys.

Spotted Captain Jack Sparrow there...talking on his handphone. So that is where he ended up at after Singapore..???

Loots from Chatuchak. Despite being so well prepared, we still have to stop several times for cold drinks and we finally had a chance to eat at one of the stalls there.

We went for dinner at Yaowarat after dropping our stuff back at hotel.

Sharks fin was so-so.

A TV crew was doing some filming at the stall that we're eating at...guess this stall must be really famous.

DAY 4 - Pratunam, Platinium and Pantip Plaza for dear
This is the day to shop till I drop on clothes. We started at 9am and only ended around 7pm. Brought dear to Pantip Plaza to look at his IT stuff to reward him for being so nice the past few days. We bought the new Asus Mini Laptop there..saved about $200 as compared to buying in SG. Many shops were selling iPhone and we were so tempted to buy...but already asked Heng to buy for us from USA..so nvm.

BEWARE: Not for the faint hearted. Those with weak heart should not view as it might result in uncontrollable shopping desire, big hole in wallet syndromes. Keke.

DAY 5 - Sad day for me cos its time to come home.
Sad but we had to leave the shopping paradise. Partly becos our pocket is quite broke already. But the past few days have been fun and I can't wait to go back again..probably in 1-2 years time. Hopefully I'll get to go on business trip there soon. LOL

That concludes our short 5 days Bangkok Trip. The traffic is still terrible there, air is still as polluted and things are more expensive than before...but food is still good and shopping still fun. Stay this way ya Bangkok!

Nono..its not another pet...its something else that I've been craving for for a while..we were happily shopping at Sim Lim cos dear wanted to get some accessories for his laptop and chanced upon this shop that has a wii set displayed. Out of curiousity, i enquired for the price. The shop owner told me S$300 for one set. I was stunned...so CHEAP??? Isit a imitation set or wat..I bombarded him with questions and realised that it is a imported set from Japan..and needs to be modified in order to pay english games. After modifying, the set costs S$480. See, there's always a catch for such things. We walked away cos its kinda ex., we spotted another shop selling wii after we stepped out and decided to checkout the price as well...surprisingly this shop is much cheaper. Plus the additional controllers we wanted, the entire set costs $500. Hmm...quite affordable. After discussing with dear, we decided to get it! Had an afternoon of fun playing with it and now my right arm is aching like hell...hehe..but its really fun time spent with dear and I do look forward to more of such times..

I have been in a joyous mood for the past 2 weeks..and even happier this week becos I'll be flying off to Bangkok on Thursday!! Yippeee... finally my long awaited trip. We have not gone for any hols since our Hongkong trip last July. Dear has been in a busy but happy mood as well cos he finally got his long awaited laptop. He was practically hugging it to sleep for the first few days.

dear lao po.. i am sorry for not spending time with you recently. come to think of it, we haven't really been "together" for a very very long time. work is always something that trouble men. its like a double-edge sword.. we often think that we could give our love ones better life by just working harder. but unknowingly, it also creates the distance from their love ones. from time to time, when you are asleep. i would actually "creep" up to your side and look at you. everytime i see you so tired, i became even more determined to work harder and give you a carefree life. but i guess my approach is wrong..

lao po ah lao po, just want to tell you that i have never forgot my promise to you. To love you and to take care of you for the rest of my life. Neither have i stop loving you.. Life is short. I dunno if i should be feeling this way, afterall..he may realli be working hard to give me a better life. But recently i feel so far away from dear. I dunno wat to talk to him about and sometimes i just don't feel like talking to him at all. He'll raise his voice at me for stupid reasons and we'll end up quarreling. He had to go back to office to work for the past two weekends..leaving us very little time to spend with each other on weekends. On weekdays, other than the time spent travelling to work and home, we don't communicate at all! I miss the times when he'll call me during lunch to check if i've taken my lunch or how am i...i can't even remember when is the last time he did that. Probably only when i am sick..

He doesn't look really interested even when we're out together and I find myself accomodating more and more to his demands/ likes and I am getting kinda sick of this. He doesn't even come on MSN that often anymore...so no chance of communicating online too...i'll be going for my jap class alone tonight...then going home alone..i'll probably fall asleep before he comes home. Guess i need to get used to being alone from now.

The season for snacking on endless CNY goodies, gathering with relatives and friends and lazing at home with dvds is coming in 2 weeks time. We've done our "spring cleaning" some time back and dear repainted our main gate and walls...so we're all ready for CNY!

We've brought the drinks needed to entertain friends as well as snacks and sweets. But I've not been down to chinatown yet...will drop by this sat and see what i can get there..probably some pineapple tarts, kueh bangkit...nian gao...and some decoratives. Yippeeee...

Done quite a number of transformation to our car over the weekend. We fixed up the new mudguard, new signal light cover, wire mesh for the front part, curtains so that the sun won't shine on me again and most importantly, melody decals!!

Dear asked me the other day if there is anything i wan. I thought for a while and replied, "nope, nothing." I have already gotten my dream car, the ds-lite which i loved and we'll be going for that Tokyo trip next year. So ya, there seems to be really nothing that I wan until the irritating Apple launched this yesterday! This two weeks old baby from Apple is tempting me to give up my one year old Macbook. Other than the slim and stylish design - which i loved!! It comes with the improved touchpad similar to the iPhone on it. You can zoom in and out of a picture or map and enlarge just using your fingers!! Wow! I would love to bring this lappy around with me cos it is so slim and light. But i still do love my macbook cos its in my fav. color...but but...i hope dear will sponsor me this macbook air soon...costs $3000+ with the portable drive inclusive. Pray pray...i promise to be good if only dear will buy me this..hee.

Oh, i went for my eyebrow embroidery yesterday...dear laughed when he saw me..said i look like la bi xiaoxin. :( I can't wait for it to fade off soon and shrink i hope so that i wun look so wierd anymore...i'll prob apply concealer to it tmr.

Bad start of the year for me =(

After being sick on the 1st day of work in 2008, I am down with heavy fever less than a week after. And for the next one week I was in a drowsy and sick mode. I can't breathe well without my nose being blocked and ears were blocked as well. I guess this year is really not a very good year for me. So its better that i do everything with caution..spend money wisely...eat more healthy foods etc.

Another sad thing is our baby-i got a small dent on the side..supposingly caused by another car when it opens the door. Suxs...i hope it doesn't cost too much to repair that. Only thing that i use to cheer myself up now would be CNY which is approaching soon!! Yippeee...new clothes, good food, gathering with friends and family! And also counting down to my BKK trip soon...

Cameron Trip 2007

Back from the short cameron trip. This trip is mainly for family bonding and some relaxation for me and dear. Good to get away to the greenery and cool air over there. But travelling with old folks do have its woes as well...mummy keep complaining about having to walk even though its only a short distance..good thing was it was a short trip..so everything was over pretty soon.

The nice 2 bedroom apartment we rented. We even did a bbq session there.

Few years back we took a picture at this exact same spot...me and dear weren't even married then. Hee...time flies..

Was in such a bad mood yesterday that i forgot to write about the little incident that happened. We were at Macdonalds buying our breakfast and spotted an injured tortoise at one of the carpark lot. We suspect it had just been run over by a car cos her shell was cracked and she was bleeding. We din know wat to do with her so we covered her with a towel and left her near the pond...to our surprise, she gave birth to a few eggs there. She must be using her last breath to give her babies life..

Worried about her, we returned few hours later to rescue her...dear brought her to a vet cos she is still alive. She is still alive and really hope she can pull through with her babies as well. We know nuts about hatching tortoise eggs, but i really hope the eggs can pull it through like their brave mother.

I am feeling terrible right now...my brain feels like its shutting down any minute. My eyes dun seem to be functioning well..the rest of my body just seems to go into standby mode and even mentally i am suffocating. I seem to be enguffed by this sensation of lack of air. Something which I've been experiencing now and then since our wedding preparation. Things did not improve even after our wedding. Our weekends are always jammed packed with activities and housechores..just thinking about the unfinished housechores is enough to make me sick. I feel weak...I feel like i am collapsing. I feel like giving up...my pets, our house, our car...anything that needs responsibility from me. It is selfish for me to push everything to dear...but i can't bear them all myself..maybe i have been too ambitious..i shouldn't have taken on so much ...more than i can take it. The tortoise we saved today...additional pressure...i am stressed. I feel like escaping into a good sleep...a sleep which i never need to worry about waking up...i need a good sleep badly.

I know i did promise myself that i'll not shop till March 2008 so that i can shop like mad in Bangkok. However, i just couldn't resist buying the pretty clothes, shoes etc when i am out shopping..and it has been a while since i get to go shopping. So here are my recent grabs~

Decided to post something about Twinkle since it has been a while since i did that. Twinkle is a realli smart gal..she already knows how to "shake hand" after only a few days of training. I just have to hold a treat in front of me, and she'll sit down n stretch out her paw for me to shake. Keke...sometimes she will even use her paw to scratch my palm exclaiming, shake my hand, shake my hand. Hehe.

Coming 24th Dec marks our 1st year wedding anniversary as well as our 2nd xmas spent together as husband & wife. Hee..after selling away our 1st xmas tree as we wanted something less cumblesome..we dropped by concourse over the weekend to get our 2nd tree. And we managed to find what we wanted at a corner of concourse. Sleek and white...and what makes it even sweeter was, compared to last year when they are selling it for $100+, this year it only costs $40 bucks! I thought i heard wrongly and had to confirm the price again. Wow. I only wish i dun see that spiral xmas tree hamper this year. So happily, i bought my decorations for our pink theme this year. And since i've sold away my top star, we decided to replace it with something else more meaningful.

Great selection of xmas decoratives...must go place to enjoy the festive mood...it starts here even before orchard road.

Busy Weekend

What a busy weekend for us..

I managed to sell away our koi pond for $150 bucks. Not a lot compared to what I paid for it..but we were glad to be able to sell it away cos it is taking up our time, electricity for the pump to on 24x7 and also causing flies to gather at our balcony area which isn't really too hygene. I do miss the fishes though..we had 8 from the first day we got our house key...but only 7 are left now and we've seen them grow from baby koi to a medium size now. Hope the new owner takes good care of them.

With the tank gone, we had to do a massive cleanup of our balcony. We did a repainting of the walls to remove the stains caused by the tank as well as did a touchup on the tank out of goodwill for the buyer. A good piece of news is we finally managed to combine Cookie & Oreo into the same cage without them fighting or killing each other. In fact, we were amazed that they got along so well with each other. They were even sleeping together. Sweet.

We brought Twinkle over to mum's place cos I predicted we'll be busy with these chores...she'll be there till this friday..till then, we can have a good rest without having to clear her pee/poo.

Sat we did the CSII sealant on our car..i can't see a big diff. but discovered some problems with our Rikecool film, must ring them up to see if they can rectify it soon. Then sun, we went down to Autobacs to purchase the engine oil for baby-i since it'll be going for its first servicing soon..prob this saturday i tink. And i had decals made for baby-i..as well as wrapping the mitsubishi logo with pink sticker. Cool~.

We removed the hanging chair too and changed into something more cozy..anyone wants to buy my hanging chair?

We wanted to get artificial plant originally..but decided that a real plant would look better..so here is our other Real plant in the house. Nice right?

I went groceries shopping at NTUC yesterday with dear and when we were making our way to the cashier to pay for our groceries, this malay auntie just turned and knocked onto dear who was carrying the basket of groceries and she just walked away without saying sorry or anything. We saw that her basket of groceries were still on the floor...so is she still in the Q or wat? As i was pissed by her earlier action, i just told dear to kick the basket to one side and just proceed on the Q. But dear refused and offered to carry the basket with him to the front.

Minutes later while its almost our turn, this lady came back and started looking around for her basket. Dear waved to her to come over and collect her basket. Telling her, we thought she is not coming back. The lady kept thanking us for helping her keep her basket cos she really wanted the groceries to bring home and cook cos her son is waiting at home. She said that we're really kind souls and God bless us...(blush*). Then i realised, she actually wanted to put back the fish head that she didn't wan to buy...which is realli kind of her cos usually pple will juz dump the food by the side of the counter in order not to miss the Q. But she is kind enough to put it back to the fridge so that some other pple can still buy.

This incident made me kinda ashamed of myself for having that nasty thought.

We finally collected our baby-i after so many months of waiting. Baby-i is our new family car..Mitsubishi-i. The cutest car available in Singapore now since Smart is not permitted to be sold here. We arrived at C&C early sat morn ready to fetch it home. Seeing the cute i waiting at the car porch, we immediately run over to give it a hug. Hehe...

We woke up super early to go to the town council to get the season parking so that we can officially park baby-i downstairs.

Some items were not completed yet though, the iPod DVD screen which is suppose to come with it have to be ordered. The small antenna have to be given to us. The towel rack and card holder is missing. And to compensate us for all this trouble, we have requested C&C to give us the wind deflector free. Hopefully all these outstanding stuff is settled soon. And can't wait for our baby-i to clock its first 1k soon...i can't afford to spend 1.5 hours jus to get to work everyday. :(

Pulau Ubin Trip

Has been a long while since I stepped foot on this island. Was bz wif wedding, house and work. Finally, we managed to find a free weekend to go there and enjoy the nice scenary.

Gives me a nice nostagic feel.

Nice broadwalk at Chek Jawa, first time i step foot here...as we never know where it is. But pity it was high tide then, nothin much to see.

The famous pig of ubin. Heard rumors that the owner is not feeding it cos it eats too much. And i was surprised being the heavyweight it is, it actually can stand on its two legs to grab the potato chips i was feeding it. Wow..reminds me of Twinkle.

Our cycling trip ended around 4+ followed by a yummy dinner at Changi V. Then its home sweet home and nursing our aching legs. Can't wait to visit there again.

We got a new pet rabbit sometime back called CoOkie..despite dear's numerous protest to call her OreO, i refused cos its too manly for her. One month after CoOkie came into our live, we bought another new member...this time he can be called OreO~ So we have OreO CoOkie together. Hehe..

He is a super duper cute and adorable bunny with grey fur. He is only 1 mth plus when we saw him in the pet shop..and is the smallest bunny i ever held in my hands..he melts our heart whenever he tries to hop but can't cos his legs are not strong enough yet. Hehe...but he is a magic bunny though...has done 2 disappearing acts so far from his cage...hope it doesn't happen again..and hope he gets along well with CoOkie soon so that they can live together happily ever after.

Today marks the birth of our new baby~ Not the actual baby...its our first new family car. It gets its birth cert number. Not something which we've hoped for..i was praying we could get something which sounds nicer like 2888 or 2999 etc. But alas, being the ordinary commoner we are, we can't afford to waste the extra moolah on bidding for some silly numbers. Its really not cheap on this sunny island..u need at least 1k to get one number u like. So we've grown to accept what is given and even consoled ourself cos these numbers dun sound so bad afterall...2 ..3..then 9 invert it and it becomes 6! If u translate the numbers, it basically means 2 ...long...rise...luck! Hehe..not bad eh! 2 person will hv rising luck....yippee...hope it comes true soon...first start, 4D this weekend! O ya, dear, remember to rearrange the numbers in all possible formats also..who knows.

Now I can't wait to get my hands on this baby..they are fixing new leather seats on her now..and this sat we'll be united as one happy family. Yipppeeee...

The first sad thing was one of my koi died yesterday nite due to lack of oxygen. The air pump was having some problems yest morning and we fixed it before we go to work...but who knows, we found one koi dead when we come home at nite. This koi have been with us since we bought the house...kinda sad to see it go..now only left 7 kois..nt sure if we should buy one more to replace it.

Then i got conned by stupid starhub on the mobile phone promotion. I saw an offer for a O2 Atom Exec at $98..super good buy, so i called up Starhub to see if they still have the promo. The cust service gal i talk to said yes, but limited stocks available. So dear specially took leave for me to get the phone for me this morning. But the Starhub pple told me..actually the whole island is OOS!! And this promotion is actually until last week only. Arrggghhhh.....how can the cust service officer give incorrect information and make us make a wasted trip. I think Starhub should really brush up their service standard. I am contemplating whether I should write them a complaint letter...maybe i should.

We went for our first jap class last sat..it was fun! Jap is not that difficult to speak..but i guess learning to read and write the language is the difficult part. Nevertheless, i am looking forward to the day when we can speak jap fluently and know what we're talking about..hehe.

I had a huge quarrel wif dear last sat. I poured out the frustration that i've had wif him all this while..actually its nothing much, but probably i wasn't in a really good mood that day and he kept making me pissed. Sometimes I wonder, how much does dear understand me..he may love me a lot but sometimes i find it really hard to get my message across to him without me losing my temper. Anyways, we managed to make up for it and went for a forum's gathering together. Met some interesting new friends there who shared the same like as us.."Mitsubishi-i". Went home at 4am...nearly died..haven't stayed awake for that long.

Going for this outing made me wish that our baby comes sooner...one more month to go...can't wait. Hope this month past faster.

1. A revamp for our house maybe..we really need to change away the floor tiles and some other stuff. Glass dining table and transparent chairs plus a black chandalier. nice~

2. Our new Mit-i is arriving in Nov..I wish for a sunroof for this baby and hopefully we don't get too broke from maintaining it.

3. New TV Console for our living room..but that is sometime near the revamp.

4. Diet...diet...lose 7kgs in 2 months or shorter if possible.

5. Complete my piano lessions..hopefully will be able to pay one complete classical/pop song. (in progress)

6. Samsung 26" white color LCD TV for our MBR..realli cool but can't afford it yet. Cost S$1100 with bracket.

8. Save SGD$50k by 30 years old.

Hmm...seems like these are more long term wishes...hope i have the means to fulfill them soon.

Finally managed to convince dear to book us a trip to Bangkok next year! Yippeee...flight plus accomodation is only S$534. This works out to be about S$271 per pax. Compared to the last trip where we paid about S$370+ per pax, we save about S$200 in total for this time round. The money saved means we can do more shopping and enjoy better food! Yay!!

Just when I was excited and happy over the upcoming trip, my manager had to drop the bad news on me...the HQ aka big boss wans to hv a daily report from me from now. This news made me sunk into the most depressed mood i hv had in a long while. But i took the opportunity to express my views..that i wan to know what are the prospects for my role in time to come. And good enough, my manager came back to me on the 2nd day and asked me to draft out my plans on what i plan/ intend to do. So i guess at least there's still some hope for me here.

Sometimes I just wished I was in a different position, born in a rich family or married a rich hubby that can afford to let me do the things I like without me having to share the burden of life. But guess this is all wishful thinking...how will my future be...i am not sure either.

Okie..the title is not as sad as it seems to be. I am just feeling gloomy cos dear left for his one week overseas conference on sunday and won't be back till this friday. But thank God, today is already Wednesday...so means 1.5 more days to go. I never get the chance to be alone in the house without dear..so this is the first time. Alone in the big house without dear, it seems so empty..even though I had Twinkle and Cookie (our new pet rabbit) to keep me company, I still feel lonely and sad. Wished that dear did not leave at all.

I endured the first 2 days..but yesterday while on the phone with dear, i finally broke down and cried. Never knew that missing him can be so sad and painful. Usually I only feel this way after a breakup. This made me realise, what if one day when we are old and he have to leave me due to old age or sickness? I'll pray to God for him to take me also...life will be meaningless without your other half...no matter how much good things you have in life.

Lastly, just wanna say..I miss you dear..come back home soon and safe.

I dun think I spelt it correctly but this is just to announce that I am starting my jap lessons soon! Will be learning together with dear. I've always enjoyed learning something new..now that my piano is left to me to dedicate time to practise practise and practise, I will spare some time to pickup this new language and hopefully very soon I will be able to communicate in jap with dear..and no language barrier if we visit japan in future! And this is a great way to spend my saturdays in a more fruitful manner...can't wait!

Many good things have happened since last friday.

Friday - I got a one week gym membership trial for free at Fitness First..hehe..that makes 3 weeks of free gym workout for me. Then I went for a FIL facial trial at only $21.40. There was no hard-selling at all..this left me a good impression and I might takeup their $38 per session facial package once I have some extra cash. It was quite good and left my skin smooth n silky. Hehe.

Saturday - After paying for our fleastall on the 8th Sep, I went for my Diamond Peel trial at Mary Chia..this is totally FOC cos I got a birthday month voucher from Diners. And surprisingly..no hardsell at all..I am beginning to wonder, isit because I look too poor to afford any package? But I prefer to think that these beauty salons is trying to change their image, from hardselling to providing better customer service. Hehe. On the way, I got another voucher for one week free trial at California Fitness. Yay, now its one entire month of free gym usage. Then its on to Raintree Spa & Villa @ Labrador Park for my massage trial. Again, courtesy of Diners @ only $38. I reached there early to tryout their gym...I was the only guest there and it felt like its my personal gym. Hehe..I also tried their steam room which wasn't as good but quite relaxing. The massage and jacuzzi was not fantastic..but I do like the environment there...will go back again once we collect our car to take pictures or just relax there. The day ended with a nice curry fishhead dinner at Changi. Hehe..so much for my workout and diet. I din bring along my cam..so no photos to show this round.

Then, we also managed to sell away some items such as our Osim Eye massager, white Christmas Tree, fake eyelashes, shrek ears, computer table and my prada haversack. And all these gave us some extra cash for this month. I still have many junk that I hope to sell...hopefully there'll be good news soon. Can't wait to see our house empty without extra junk. But I must still control my spending..need to save for rainy days when our car arrives...dun wan that feeling of too broke even after we get our car. I wan to be able to drive around to anyplace I like and eat anyting that I like. Hehe. Enough of babbling..back to work.

Some photos of the nice birthday dinner I had at Sky Fitness...quite a nice place though..but too expensive for membership. The dinner was suppose to be specially formulated for the health conscious so I have no qualms about finishing it all. Hehe..after a whole week of diet, really glad to eat normal food again.

Birthday Shopping Spreeeee

After reading my blog or seeing my disappointed face...dear felt so guilty that he decided to bring me on a mini shopping spree to choose my own present. We went down to MS - Marina Square for our shopping trip. I wanted to get some new shoes and some working clothes.

There is this new section that is similar to Far East Square there..I bought 2 pairs of shoes I like at TinkerBells...love their shoes & packaging..so nice. The salesgirl was even kind enough to go to their other branch to get me the size I wan. Then a dress n skirt @ this shop for only S$25. Real cheap! Heehee. Then i got some accessories..earrings and a nice necklace. And the best present is the DVD that I've been searching for a long time. I got a total of 10 presents including an ice-cream from Hokkaido..

Overall, this is the best birthday present I got this year. What is even better is we sold away our Osim massager on Yahoo and sort of covered the expenses from this spree. Look forward to our next fleastall on 8th Sep where hopefully we can earn more $$ n clear some junk.

Went through some of my photos and realised I've forgotten to update on what happened on our 3rd year anniversary on 14.07.2007. This is the first special occasiion which dear made the effort to plan surprises for me...while me on the other hand was too slack to plan anything really special..my plans for a home cooked romantic dinner was abolished when dear told me not to make plans for dinner.

A simple "I love u" blueberry muffins for him. Was suppose to be a chocolate cake..but i bought the wrong ingredients which is meant to make brownies. So had to do this the last minute..smells quite nice though.

A handmade scrap book...it came with some pre-designed items..so i just have to paste in the photographs..only started on it 2 days before the day..but I am quite proud of this work.

Dear's gifts for me - Pink mouse n mousepad...nice~ made up for the razer mouse which we din manage to buy. Matches my macbook...but i still prefer white though.

He brought me shopping to choose my own gifts..I din use up the $150 voucher..only spent half of it on these.

Surprise romantic dinner...nice place but yucky food...will never go there again. I was wearing this gown for the first time for this occasion..and realised I've grown so fat from the pics...sad. Muz strive hard to diet..or wear loose fitting dress from now on.

Our main course - pasta..mine was too spicy and the prawns too uncooked for my liking. Overall..yuks. The food sucks so much that we din even want to get desserts.

Went over to another session for some drinks...had the strongest lychee martini i ever tried. Dear's one tasted like raseberry flavored medicine.

Lastly I made this for us as snacks in the afternoon while watching movies on our sofa...nothing is better than spending quality time with your loved one in the home you love.

Celebrated my 27th Birthday

Celebrated my 27th Birthday yesterday. As I grow older, lesser and lesser people remember my birthday. Dear did not give me the surprise I expected at the stroke of midnight..in fact, he slept throughout the entire night. I went to work with a disappointed mood. Some friends that were in my friendster wished me happy birthday through msn...and some through sms. But none of my close friends remembered. Sighx. I guess I am not a good friend that is worth for them to remember..even on this special day. Dear sent me a bottle of sand and a stuff toy as a surprise...hee..he always sends me wierd stuff. But I do appreciate his effort. We went for a sumptous dinner..and he even prepared a surprise cake for me when we reached home.

Not sure what is wrong with me...somehow the lack in surprises from dear has resulted in me being reluctant to do anything for him as well. I used to plan nice surprises and handmade gifts for him...but now I just make do with a off-the-shelf present. Really hope that this will not affect our relationship...but somehow..this birthday was another disappointment for me..I can't really explain why..but I am just not happy..isit becos of my expectations or is dear really not someone who can give me the romance I wan?

Salmon Craving...

I have this intense craving for Salmon since tuesday..to curb it, i went to cold storage and bought myself a box of salmon sushi rolls..but it did not satisfy my craving, so on wed nite, i pestered dear to get me salmon sashimi from sakae sushi..then on thurs, we went sakura's high-tea buffet where i had 3 servings of salmon sashimi...yippee..free flow salmon..but too bad i was too full by my 3rd serving. And now I am having that craving again...wonder if i should go for sakura buffet again tmr or wat. Hehe..I am such a glutton..hopes dashed for diet plans.

Went to the Metro closing down sale yesterday...managed to grab some cheap buys...a silk bedlinen set with quilt is only $69.90 after discounts...then a King size white bedsheet at only $13+ i think after discounts. While grabbing these bargains, dear and i both felt kinda sorry for the once popular and famous shopping mall. After Yaohan...this is the 2nd mall that is slowly vanishing from SG. But guess they have to make way for newer and more exciting shopping places....and this is my first and last time to spend so much at this shopping mall...how irony.

Hong Kong Trip 18th - 22nd July 2007

Have been rather busy these few weeks with the short trip to Hong Kong & the major event that is finally over this week. This trip wasn't entirely enjoyable as I don't really like Hong Kong even though its my first time there. It reminds me of Singapore, small and boring. Besides shopping and slurging money, there isn't really much things you can do. And things there are not really cheap...it is even more ex. than SG I feel. For the money spent there, I can probably buy tons of things in BKK. Nonetheless, this was one of the trip where we don't have to rush cos we had plenty of time there.

Tourist Essential: Octopus Card for transport. Lucky we got this on our first day..saves the trouble of getting change and also save quite a fair bit on transport cos the taxis in Hong Kong practically rob you in the daylight.

Lantau Island - It was only after I came back then my colleague told me there is a direct ferry there. But I am still not sure how the ferry can reach the top of a mountain. Anyway we endured a terrible 45mins coach ride just to reach this place.

Xu Liu Shan - The famous mango ice dessert..I ate it almost everyday when I was there.

Bye bye Hong Kong..a place I'll likely to never return again.

A short incident happened on the first day we reached hongkong. We almost lost dear cos he had ventured out of the luggage belt area himself while the big group of us was inside waiting for him. He claimed that he didn't see us...which is quite impossible as we were all waiting for him right in front of the immigration counters. The only logical reason I would think of was...he probably came out when most of us went to the toilet. Hehe..so in order to look for him...I had the first experience of my life to make a telebroadcast over the airport radio system. Hehe..too bad nobody has approached me and asked if I wan to be a singer. Anyway, lucky he was smart enough to change some money himself to call me...if not he'll be stranded broke and without clothes at HK.

Overall my impression of Hong Kong was: -80. Hong Kongers (if thats wat u call them), despise all chinese (with this I mean pple from China Mainland). And if you speak in mandarin to them, they basically see you as a chinese cos obviously their narrow perspective of the world do not allow them to believe that there are chinese in other parts of the world other than China. And considering that they are a part of China now, it is even more ridiculous for them to look down on their fellow countrymen. So what if Hong Kongers are more educated or richer? Their level of civilisation falls on the same level as China pple or even lower for some. I was fairly glad to be a Singaporean when I was there cos you just have to speak a little english and you'll receive 5-star treatment...from waiters, hotel staff etc. Hotel rooms there are famous for being pathetically small. The room we stayed in (which is in a 3star hotel), including the washroom was only about the size of my dining room...you can imagine how happy I was to be home at last. I dun understand how the Hong Kong government can make such lousy plans of the use of their land...they have so much empty space at the outskirts which are not even developed...mostly are still countryside farms etc. And the living condition there suxs with ugly buildings, smelly alleyways and small houses. They do have a number of super skyscapers which I worry for the residents should there be a natural disaster or if the lift happens to break for vacation. Lastly, things there is definitely not cheap...cost more than S$5 for my bowl of mango dessert..hygene level there is also not good...the sewege system suxs...everywhere on the road stinks in Mongkok...well..guess this will end my summary of my Hong Kong trip.

What is marriage all about?

I finished this drama called "结婚“ over the weekend. Which means marriage. The show talks about this girl that loved a guy so much and she married him. She married him without expecting anything in return, but gradually she becomes greedy and starts to want more. She became jealous of the love that guy has for his first love and wished she had this love from him as well. Slowly, this desire of hers changed her from a happy go lucky girl to someone that only knows how to cry everyday.

The storyline might be simple and predictable, but somehow I was deeply touched by it. Perhaps its because I've been through my fair share of heartbreaks as well. I fully understand how it feels to love someone but not loved back as much in return. This show also depicts the sweet and loving feeling of a newly wed couple..which is pretty much like me and hubby few months back. Of cos we're still newly weds..but the show reminds me of the sweet loving feeling I had after our wedding. In the show, the couple shows how distrust and dishonesty can easily break up what was suppose to be a happy marriage. Indeed, trust is easy to be destroyed but hard to build up. Once broken, it is hard to be back to before. I am glad that dear has been doing well in this so far. He never fails to let me know where is he going and who he'll be meeting up with. Of cos, on a few occasions, I do feel tempted to check his handphone just to see who he is keeping in touch with...I guess that is the most important thing in a marriage..love is the foundation, trust is the pillar and relationship is the walls.

I pray that my marriage will always stay as sweet and loving as it is now.

Our first family car

Has been a while since I update. Still busy with life. Busy acting busy, busy being depressed with work, busy with my dog, busy with housechores. Funny how people continue to chase for that 'impossible' leisure life.

Well, I get to knock off from work slightly earlier last week so I decided to drop by Cycle & Carriage to take a look at their latest model iPlay. I have been aiming for the iCar since it was launched and we had plans to get it next year. But price has gone up since we last saw it. The new iPlay is sooo cool, with a touch screen panel which is compatible with iPod, there is no more need for CDs. Of course I have to first find time to copy all my songs over to my hdd. Then there is the additional sporty stuff like fog lamps, spoiler etc. I went home to persuade dear after getting all the details, have to convince him that it is better to get it before the gst hike which'll make the car cost $1k more. Thank God that he also feel that price will increase after the gst hike. So with an unsure heart, we went down to the showroom again on friday to make our booking. Not sure if we got a good deal, but we managed to get the color we want after much effort - Pearl White (we saw this on a Evo and it was love at first sight. I dropped my idea of getting a white car after seeing this. Also dear kept reminding me that white turns yellow after some time and I dun wanna risk driving a yellow grumpy car). They specially order this color for us from Japan..only thing is we might have to wait a bit longer. I only hope that the price will keep going up and not the other way round. We managed to get free leather seats, an extra immobilizer, 3M floormats and Rikecool for the entire car at a topup of $200. Wasn't able to get it for free though..kinda sad about this. But the best deal is we got a free upgrade, so we're paying the price of a normal Mit-i but getting the iPlay which costs $4k more normally. So excited and can't wait.

The one at the bottom is the one we're getting, the one on top is solid white. But trust me, solid white doesn't really look as good ...pearl white has lower risk of turning yellow overtime..so is safer in the long run. Will be collecting our car in Nov if nothing goes wrong..and I can start scouting around for car deco. Yippeee...

Been a while since my last update. Was sick yesterday and not fully recovered yet. Dear has been an angel tending to me lovingly yesterday. He brought me water, drinks and whatever I asked for. Even made hot towel for me yest. I went on our company retreat last week to Phuket, I was one of the committee who was involved in organizing the games and stuff etc. Well, I guess I can finally put my organization skills to good use. The event turned out to be a smooth and successful one. All the activities organized was able to give everyone present an enjoyable time. Except for the part of the hotel though. But nonetheless, I was glad it helped to bring me closer to my colleagues..

Dear did something real sweet while I was there, he sent me a bouquet of flowers..after hearing me complain about not receiving flowers for so long I guess. I had to carry the big bouquet all the way back..but it was still sweet of him. Sometimes I wonder, will we last like this forever..I will try my best to keep it this way and I pray that dear will love me forever as well..

Many new updates to our lives since my last posting.

We went down to the Akira sale last friday and I bought my first oven for only $38! I've always wanted a oven to try my hands at baking and dear finally granted my wish. Baked some cookies on sat but they did not turn out so well..but nonetheless, still tasted really yummy. Then i made baked rice for us on sun which is really yummy..

Went down to watch Shrek 3 last wed since thursday is a public holiday. We bought the Shrek ears from Macdonalds...look where it ended up on. hehe..

Lastly, went over to Ikea to purchase some items for our house since I still have the leftover voucher. But we ended up spending more than the vouchers worth.

Was away to Bangkok for a business trip from 8 - 12th May. Its my 2nd business trip since the KL one last month but first time away for so long. Accomodation and flight is paid for and I can use the extra money for shopping spreee. I spent a total of $400 on tons of clothes and accessories. I managed to cancel the extra day extension and came back on saturday night instead of sunday. Thank God for his blessings. But poor dear had to do the fleastall alone since I am away. But he made a good profit of $130+ even without me. Looking forward to the next stall on the 26th..mus recover some loss from the trip.

Before I went to Bangkok, we visited Clark Quay for some girl's nite out. Clark Quay has underwent a transformation and looks so cool now.

I love this "theme pub". Everything is modelled after the hospital and sooo cool. Even the membership counter is made to look like a operating theatre. COOL...

We went to this pub in the end cos Clinic was too crowded. But this place serves nice martinis...yummy.

Dear is away on reservist from 14 - 20th May. First anniversary we're apart =(. Really miss him sooo much. He came back for a while last night..while our sofa is being delivered. Yup, our new cool black sofa. Love it so much. But some part is wrong..hopefully they'll agree to change it for us. If not, I can make do with it too...it is afterall tons better looking than the old one. And God please prevent Twinkle from doing anything stupid on our new sofa and newly washed carpet. She shitted on the carpet this morning. I am only one step away from strangling her. hee.

Updates May 07

Following the last post, there has been more updates to our lives which I thought I'll note it down here.

- I've decided to stay on my current job as my boss has kindly agreed to give me a pay raise! Yippee...I wun put my salary here but let's just say I can finally apply for a credit card on my own! Wooo...

- Sold our sofa to a nice lady for $600. Lose quite a bit of money but I am glad we manage to get rid of it and get back some money.

- Held our 3rd fleamarket stall last sat. We made a total of close to $200 in total. Will be having another stall on the 12th, this time we're more prepared...hopefully sales will be better.

- This is the most happy news of all, I am going on a trip this July. We're going to Hongkong! This will be the first time I visit Hongkong..can't wait to shop n eat till I drop. Not a bad year for me eh, visited so many places for the first time...one step closer to completing my world map now.

Tons of things are going on recently in our lives and thought i better update here before i forget.

- we got back our ariston hob. (repaired and foc! thx to dear..dunno how he managed to convince them that its their fault. haha)
- our new coffee table arrived on the same day. really nice..but doesn't blend with our current sofa though.
- dear brought me down to LUXURHOME to view our sofa..sadly the sofa is not on display. but ..we bought it afterall! I manage to squeeze out some good bargains. Can't wait for it to arrive in May. And hopefully we get to sell away our sofa set soon..someone coming to view tonite..God bless.
- i finally tendered my resignation after being in a dilemma for 3 days. even lost sleep becos of it. But I've decided to leave it to God to make the best decision for me. If I am meant to stay in my current company (which I am really happy here), please let my boss give me a pay raise. Otherwise, pray that I'll be happy in the new workplace. I still feel kinda sad if I've to leave my current job cos everyone here is so nice and friendly. hard to find nice bosses nowadays. But for other worldly reasons, i gotto leave and head for better prospects. sighx.
- going to have my 3rd fleamarket stall this saturday. can't wait for it..we're even more well prepared this round..need to make lotsa $$ to cover the cost of my new sofa. God BLESSSssss...plssss.

Other things we're still working hard towards:

- Getting our own car by early 2008 if possible.
- Getting a part time maid to take care of all the mopping, washing etc.
- Learning to play any song I wan on the piano.

That should be all for now.
