Sold my DELL PC!

I finally manage to sell away my 3 year old DELL PC on Wednesday. The DELL PC was still working fine actually and everything is almost in brand new condition, but it was sort of under-utilise cos I only use it for playing games nowadays. And I have a Apple Macbook to use too. So I decided to sell away the entire bundle with monitor and stuff at a cheap price of S$500. I bought it for S$2200 I tink. Well...considering that DELL got low resale value due to its reliability, it was pretty good that someone wans to buy though.

I am not the only person happy with the sale, dear was very happy about it too becos that means he gets back his 17" LCD Monitor which I've been hogging all this while. And alas, dear's motherboard fried on that fateful night too...so we decided that he needs a new PC. (We were contemplating between a PC or laptop for him but due to his requirements and budget, we can only get a DIY PC for him)

So off we went to Sim Lim the next day....I was going to get a 120GB External HDD and a cool set of speakers to match my macbook at a tight budget of S$200. The balance $300 from the PC sale will go into buying of a new coffeetable for our living room. I already know which one I wanna buy! Dear will be getting his set of DIY PC.

My HDD and speakers came to about $371...exceeded my budget by $171...which dear readily agreed to sponsor. Yippeeeee! Dear got a really cool black desktop casing with some new processor and cards....can see he is really happy with his purchase too. But still in the midst of fixing it up. I am so excited abt his new PC, cos it's so much smaller compared to his old machine...and this CPU takes up much lesser space which means I can shift my printer to the shelf below and the tabletop will look less cluttered.

A small incident happened yesterday too...as I arrived in Sim Lim pretty late, around 7pm, we need to rush to find our stuff as shops in Sim Lim close around 8pm. Therefore, dear and me agree to split up to buy our own stuff. I was at this shop asking for pricing for my HDD, when I walk out, this guy followed me ...then he started to chat wif me..asking if i am also looking for HDD. Thinking that he might just want to get more information on HDD, I shared with him the prices I've found so far....he followed me around a few other shops....then he surprised me by asking for my number, said he jus wanna b friends. I made an excuse to leave cos the shops are closing and I haven't found my stuff.

I was in this shop buying my HDD (cos its the cheapest I can find) and there he is again, but dear was with me this time. I guess dear sense something was wrong and shouted loudly, "Lao Po" when he was calling me. Hehe...well, after we left Sim Lim square, dear ask me whether this guy is trying to know me...hahaha....i told him maybe yes...but after hearing you call me lao po, he probably drop that intention. Funny thing was, I had my wedding ring on yest and another ring on my engagement finger...but that did not stop him from approaching me too. Hehe...on a bright note, it means that I still have some charm in me huh. Haha...bhb. Shall update with more pics of my cool speakers and dear's PC soon.

House Warming

We had our house warming last saturday. Feels wierd to hold the house warming after we've been staying there for almost a year. But we wanted to hold it till our wedding is over first so that there won't be too many things on hand. We decided to go fuss-free by ordering catered food. With recommendation from dear, we went ahead to order Lee Wee Brothers Nasi Lemak which is suppose to be famous and well loved by dear's colleagues. I ordered additional Pizza and Sushi for my friends. Two days before the house warming, we started a hectic schedule of cleaning and tidying up the house...reminds me of the days before our wedding where we did a mass spring cleaning too.

Woke up super early on Saturday morning to do some last minute clean ups..then we proceeded to Northpoint to get our breakfast and also to buy the Sushi. Time pass a tad too fast and we ended up having to rush back home cos the Nasi Lemak delivery guy has arrived. Shortly after, some of dear's colleague arrived. The first batch of friends to come were dear's colleagues...followed by some of my ex-colleague and friends. We have the tendency for incidents on important occasions...eg, i broke an egg while opening the fridge door, twinkle shitted in the middle of the living room when dear was busy entertaining his colleagues. But things passed pretty fast and we did pretty well with entertaining the guests with food, drinks and our wedding videos.

The part where I am most pleased about is we managed to finish whatever food we ordered and it is just nice for everyone...no wastage. I even used the leftover rice to cook fried rice for us the next day. Oh ya, that night, Huixin brought her new bf over....quite a nice chap we think...really happy for Huixin and I hope they work out well..then I'll be able to attend her wedding! Hehe...maybe force her to let me be sister so that I can tekan her groom. We ended the night with a KTV session at Yishun Safra...waste of $$ i know..but dear agreed to treat me cos its been a long time since I went to a KTV.

It did not take much effort for us to cleanup the house since everything was disposable. I thank God for giving me such a loving hubby who did not mind helping me out with everything and anything..I hope our house will continue to be filled with our never-ending love.

Here is a pic of our cute Twinkle playing with her favorite toy. She did something cute on monday night..just before we were to tuck into bed, she grab hold of her toy in her mouth and jumped onto our bed, as if to tell us she wanna play. Not wanting to disappoint her, we ended up playing tug of war with her using this bear. Can't wait for her fur to grow cos she'll look so cute n cuddly. Twinkle is loved by everyone in our family...even my in-laws would sometimes cut fruits for her whenever we go over to visit. Having her with us makes our family feels complete somehow.

Great cheap buys!
Last sat, I had my very first fleamarket stall @ Scape beside Cineleisure Orchard. This was organized by Lime Magazine and for a cheap rental of $20 per day, I would say the location and crowd was pretty good. Even though we were placed at the back of the market as my original location was taken by someone else, we still have a good flow of customers. Since this was my first time selling at a fleamarket, I am not sure what I need to prepare, but I brought along a clothes rack to hang those clothes I wanna sell, and some paperbags to pack the merchandise in. Many stalls were quite expert in this, some sell exotic t-shirts, accessories and even sandals. I had a lelong corner selling clothes @ $1ea. There were many browsers but few buyers..despite the hot weather...there were many pple that came and shop around. I was even interviewed by Channel V...not sure where its from though.

End of the day, I managed to sell some stuff and even a dress @ $30! We make a total of about S$90...and S$50 after minusing rental n stuff. I'll be having my 2nd one on the 24th...can't wait for it. This time, I'll surely be more prepared for it.

I miss my mum

Although I've been living in my new place since it was ready last year, I do go back home at least once a week to stay with my mum. But since back from Honeymoon, we've only been home once to stayover. And my busy schedule on weekends make it impossible to go back and visit her plus the fact that we don't own a car makes it even worse.
My mum used to be a strong headed woman (she still is) who would often quarrel with people and scold me becos of her bad temper. I was often beaten up for nothing when I was young. And I hated her for this.
During my wedding, I did not want her to march-in with me, although deep in her heart, I know she would be very happy to do so. Reason being, she can't walk properly and I was afraid she might trip and fall. Selfish reason, I was worried she might embarress me. I am not writing these down cos she is dead and I felt remorseful or what. She is still very healthy and strong. Knowing she is alone at home, I tried to call her as often as I can and I can sense her happiness whenever she heard my voice. Last night she called me from a public phone after her dinner...she asked me simple things like "have u taken your dinner?" , "dun stay up too late." Although simple as they can be...they signify her love for me. I felt bad for not being able to stay by her side and hated myself for buying a flat so far away from her...I am her only daughter..the only person she has pinned her hope on for her entire life. I am glad I did not disappoint her by stepping on a wrong path...but I wished I could do more for her...to give her a better life..to let her be happy. I will try.

This week hasn't been a very good week for us. Firstly, dear got news that one of his colleague was promoted and he wasn't too pleased about it. For me, I was getting more stress at work which make me feel like quitting. Too bad that we're not strong enough financially for me to stop working. I really wished I can stay home and be a good homemaker..taking good care of the house and future kids. But guess its not possible in this country with such high living expenses. I am starting to make plans for our future...really scared that we won't have enough money for old age.

Yesterday we went to Habourfront for some shopping spree cos BIG was having this warehouse sale. We bought a mini steamboat cum grill for us, a juice extractor (finally i can have fresh fruit juice) and a mini choco fondue set. Can't wait to try out these cool stuff. And they only cost us $82 in total.

As we reached home too late yest, we had to postpone twinkle's birthday celebration to tonight. She seem to know we're not celebrating and looks a bit sad yesterday. Well, hopefully tonight we can make it up to her. I'll be making steamed fish with carrots and tofu for her, plus we'll bring her downstairs for a long walk..and complete the night with her favorite greeny! Guess she'll be happy. We'll also be having choco fondue tonight...yummy.
