Princess for a DaY

I look like a PrinCeSs~ hehe...before you start calling me an airhead or whatever names you call it..which girl has never dreamt of being CindereLLa for a day? Well, for many girls...the only chance of being a princess for a day is probably on their wedding day. This probably will give you guys a good idea of why girls tend to fuss over the nitty gritty stuff like oh...what nail color should I use, which shoe should I wear on our wedding day. Throughout the preparation for my wedding...there have been excitements and disappointments. Disappointment comes when you realise you can't get married in a castle and ride off in a white horse afterall...nono..just joking. Probably more real things like, you're not going to have the big diamond ring to wear on your wedding or probably not going to have your ideal wedding gown due to budget constraints. I have read many stories which tells us that its not the wedding day thats impt, its the marriage that comes after it...but I guess to all girls, including me, a perfect wedding day marks the beginning to a perfect marriage...isn't it true?

BKK Trip 7th - 10th July 2006

As promiseD, the fotos and updates from our recent BKK trip. This trip is less interesting...feel that the things is no longer as cheap and variety is also quite similar to what we've seen the last time. But since the focus this round is on home decoratives, we made use of our time to grab whatever nice decorations we can find and of course within our budget. There was this nice rose frame that I almost bought if not for the expensive pricetag...we ended up getting a cheaper version from Daiso in Singapore...smaller but a lot cheaper. Kekeke..oh ya, not forgetting we caught our World Cup finals at the cafe downstairs at the lobby...the sports commentary suxs.

Our flight. First time we are taking JetStarAsia...not bad for a budget airline..we bought our own food and drinks up the plane..so need not buy any from them. Luckily its a short flight so the space is quite sufficient. I am beginning to worry about my Europe flight...must choose a good seat with more legroom.

Chicken Sandwich from MacCafe...Quite nice for a fast food joint. Ate this at the departure hall...dear did something silly here..by answering to the answering machine in the lift. Shall not elaborate in case he kills me. Kekeke...

Suan Lum Night Bazaar (Similar to Chatuchak but it operates only at night and opens everyday unlike Chatuchak which only opens on weekends.)

Mobile ATM? I thot its cool initially until one of my colleague mentioned, what if the robber robs this lorry and drives it away? Then all the $$ will be gone. LOL! Guess I got lots to learn from them.

First time we took their public bus. They have this lady onboard the bus which'll sell you the ticket depending on where you wanna go. We took this bus ride to MBK from our hotel since we couldn't get a cab. Thanks to a friendly local that told us which bus to take. 2 persons cost 24baht..less than S$1 for both. But we still had to walk a distance from the bus stop to MBK..but its a fun experience!

First day grabs~ imagine we only reached hotel at 4+pm. Kekeke

2nd Day ~ Chatuchak Weekend Market (This is where we'll grab all the nice decoratives for our new house). We spent the entire saturday there..and even had time to go back on sunday.

Fried Quail Eggs? With the recent bird flu going on..guess less pple dare to eat chicken eggs now.

Yummy~ only 5baht per stick...thats about S$0.03cents only!! I din try though since we were quite full from the hotel buffet breakfast.

Bought 2 nice square plates from this store...but the stupid hotel bellboy broke it while transporting our luggage. :(.. Anyone going BKK can help me to buy again? We only managed to save 1 square plate and 4 chawanmushi cups.

Cute puppies for sale..and cheap too. Too bad we can't bring them back. Good thing about thailand is its people are dogs lovers..unlike China. Yuks!

Keke...dear bought this so that I can find him amidst the crowd. Nearly lost my way when I wander off to shop on my own...dear had to wait at the small cafe for close to 3 hours for me. So glad he was still there when I finally found my way.

A glimpse of the small alleys that'll make u sweat BIG time. We chose to walk around the outside this time..cos the shops at the outside are bigger and its not so hot...even the portable fan I specially brought along this time prove to be rather useless in Chatuchak.

Wierd creature...not a rat, not a snake and is not a leech. Anyone knows what is this? Its feeding on those leftover food..can you imagine if the shop pple didn't wash the utensils properly and you have to eat with it next round?? I guess its still important to choose the place you eat overseas even if you have a strong stomach.

Day 3 grabs ~ See the Quilt & Tatami we bought? Had a hard time laggin them back to the hotel under the hot weather..of cos dear did most of the carrying. Hehe...

Ratten ball decoratives for our house..the small ones are given foc..frankly speaking, I dunno what to do with them when I bought them..but just find it nice and artistic. Now it is sitting in some corner of my living room.

Our first COUPLE T-SHIRT! I bought it to surprise dear...see the monkiee? Cute right?

Tuk Tuk - we were nearly scared out of our seats when one of the tuk tuk we took did a stunt U-TURN on a busy street...hehe..but it was fun. But a note to new travellers to BKK, its cheaper to travel on cab rather than tuk tuk now..cos tuk tuk has grown into more like a tourist attraction thingy.

Nono..this is nothing like Singapore's satay club. This is actually a pub cum disco. Real cool...we went to the dinner section for some fine dining as well as to celebrate our 2nd year anniversary. Cool~ The bed nearly made me fall asleep. Too bad the hunks there are mostly gays. What a pity.

We ended our Bangkok trip with a meal at our favorite local restuarant...din get to take down the name, I only know how to go. We were glad its still there cos they serve the best tomyan gung! And glad that the ahgua waitress is gone too ...we can finally enjoy our meal in peace. LOL!

Been totally stressed out recently..work hasn't been too good. Had to call several nasty people recently and the response for my seminar hasn't been good. I am left with only 2 weeks to the event...worse case I'll just postpone it. No choice. Sighx. Din manage to get any appointments since I am busy preparing for the event.

And of course the numerous blogs from online forums that I follow. Went to collect back my cam on Friday...glad that nobody questioned me when I left office at 4+. I even though of an excuse that I am going for a short meeting if someone do ask. =P Got back my cam in perfect working condition...they even fixed the auto focusing problem I think. And i only had to pay $126 for the repairs instead of the original $300+ quoted to me...so happy about it. Minus the $50 which the previous seller paid me..I only had to top up $76 myself. No doubt this made me $76 poorer, I am still glad the amount was reduced significantly.

I went to pay Dear a surprise visit after my cam collection...lucky for me I managed to alight at the right busstop...climbed that challenging flight of stairs (nearly fainted)...and finally reached Dear's office. He ended work early just to come down and meet me...hehe...boy, was he surprised, but can see he was very happy. We met his colleague KJ on the bus and he commented that Dear is so lucky to have his wife come fetch him...hehe..can see Dear blushing. We continued to Habourfront SAFE for some shopping...they were selling this prestigio HDD at only S$99 for a 40GB! I was so tempted to get it to store all my MP3s...but Dear reminded me of how broke I am this month. We even avoided any groceries shopping this week cos I am so broke. :(

I went down to do my trial makeup and hairdo. I liked the way my MUA listened to my opinions. I hope she can help me to look my prettiest on my AD. Wow, only left 4 months officially to my wedding ...starting to feel nervous already cos there seem to be tons of things not done yet. We had many kind friends that offered to help out...but we declined cos we don't really know what needs to be done yet. Kekeke...I am already halfway done with the schedule and programme list...probably just needs to fine tune it. Hmm..this is the list of things already done / undone:

Wedding Foto - Done & Collected

AD Gowns - Chosen, left EG not ready yet. Have to send bought gown for dry clean and ironing.

Wedding Invites - Ribbons 70% tied. Map printed not cut yet.

Wine - Found a source but decline due to unreliable seller. Have to source for alternative. Worse case, we don't cater wines since we have free flow beers.

Projector & Screen - Have not informed vendor that need to pay deposit to setup...not sure who can help us setup as well.

Programme List - Halfway Done

MC Speech - Have DL other pple's version...still deciding whether to use theirs or come up my own.

Guest List - Waiting for Dear to be free to discuss but we'll usually so tired on weekday nights or too busy on weekends to discuss.

Bridal Car & Deco - Booked. To reconfirm.

Photographer & Videographer - Booked. Suppose to meet them up to discuss.

Balloons - Need to buy some helium heart shaped balloons for bridal car and banquet venue. Maybe order from florist.

Meeting with florist & food tasting - Not done yet.

Hand Bouquet - Ordered. But to reconfirm the color of the roses. (Maybe change design)

Emcees & Jiemeis - To meetup with them. Corsages and Chokers made.

Wedding Log Cake - To order sometime in Oct. November collect and deliver.

Clothes for Parents - Only left my mum clothes which she'll settle herself.

Jewellery & Tiara - To borrow from Bridal or MUA.

Veil - Check if they have red edge veil. Borrow long veil from MUA.

Reharsal - Not done yet.

Church Ceremony - To inform Pastor not conducting.

Wedding Songs - Chosen, to burn into CDs. Including March-in Songs.

Equipments - To bring DVD Player & Laptop if playing Slideshow. (Photographer provides photomontage. To check.)

Guo Da Li - Stuff bought. Left foodstuff to buy.

These are all I can think of currently...hope I din miss out anything important. This year is really fanatic...no time for anything that is less important...our brains are really maxed out...and I come to work every monday with a stoned and dazed mood. We had to cut out a lot of things such as our wedding bands, snacks for cocktail session due to budget constraints. Kinda disappointed about the wedding bands thingy...cos we don't have anything that we wear all the time since Dear find the Tiffany pair too bulky..but its something that I'll really liked to have. Then also jewellery..was expecting something from our parents..but guess that's not gonna happen. So I guess I just have to stick to fake costume jewellery and my one and only brilliant rose ring. =(

This entire wedding and parents thingy is putting me into a depression state...I get pissed easily everytime I think about the wedding issues. Sighx. I wished we had more caring parents that'll help out more..my MIL only know how to get us to spend our $$$ and demand we return her the money which she lent to us. Plain selfish person..my mum only know how to demand more n more $$$...another selfish freak.. PisseD, but nothing we can do. Dear is pretty stressed out himself with his work, his studies and pressure from our wedding. Partly caused by me too since he know I am so stressed out. Budden there is nothing I can do about it..not till our wedding is over. I HATE OUR MUMS! Sighx. Dear, if you are reading this, I DO NOT WANT TO CATER BUFFET FOR OUR MUMS. THEY WANT TO SERVE FOOD, ASK THEM TO COOK OR PAY FROM THEIR OWN POCKET. WE DO NOT HAVE EXTRA BUDGET TO PAY FOR THEM. UNLESS PAPA WANTS TO COME OUT MONEY FROM HIS OWN POCKET AGAIN. AND ASK PAPA TO GIVE ME THE $$ FOR THE CAKES...IF GIVE TO MY MUM, IT'LL NOT COME BACK AND WE WON'T BE ABLE TO GET THE CAKES.

A day in Twinkle's LiFe~

Since I am not given the rights to start a blog in www.dogsforum.com.sg yet, I've decided to do it here on my blog. Hehe...

Twinkle's Story:

Today I am alone at home waiting for mummy to come home...she is very late today. My tummy is grumbling...y no food for me yet?? Then I heard noises downstairs, the door opens. Yippy, must be mummy coming home. Can't wait to welcome her. Mummy came upstairs and open the door for me...I wag my tail real hard to show mummy how happy I am to see her. Keke...and that I've been a good girl..I pee-eD on the papers today.

Mummy likes to call my name, Twinkiee...twinkee girl...(funnie, I thot my name is Twinkle?) She confuses me sometimes. I hopped downstairs with mummy...saw lotsa people in our house today...I hurried to welcome them as well. They are mummy's friends I guess. Then I saw 2 other doggys..hmm..not mummy's new baby I hope. I thought I was the ONLY princess in this house. hee~

One of them keep coming near me....sniffing my face. I hate it...can't you be more civilise and just greet me with a handshake or something? Then she followed me wherever I go. I ran over to mummy and hide behind her. That stupid dog followed. Mummy kept saying, Twinkle, make friends with her..dun be naughty. Sighx....

Then I noticed another dog that just kept quiet and lay on a mattress at one corner. I went over to say hi to her...she looked sad. I wonder why.

After the humans and that stupid dog left, this doggy was left in our house. She looked quite sad and din greet me when I greeted her just now. I walked over to her mattress and lay down beside her...just wanted to let her know I wanna be her friend and that she'll be ok. She got these ugly wounds on her body and she smell quite bad. Mummy scolded me, told me not to disturb her. Hmpf~ can't she see I am trying to play a good host??

Mummy was busying herself with this new doggy all night...she din even stop to play tug-of-war wif me... :( mummy brought a shoe to the mattress, I thought its for me and wanted to grab it...but got scolded. Mummy said its not for me..its for the new doggy. Sad* I was scolded when I tried to drink from her bowl as well.. But well, I thot I should be a good host so I am not angry with her. Besides, she looked very sad.

When it was time to go to bed, I wanted to stay with her...cos she might be lonely alone downstairs...but mummy was calling out to me...daddy too....so I went over to sniff her goodnite and told her its going to be alright..then scrambled upstairs to my bed. Gd nite~

About me...hmm..I am a 5 years old Shih Tzu whom the doctor always call me overweight...hey, my name is Twinkle okie! Besides, I am not fat, I am just chubby...and mummy likes me for that. I know that mummy loves me a lot...but sometimes she can be such a pain...for example, she likes to make me wear shoes which I hate..and recently she has been tying my hair in all sorts of funny designs...well, I give in to her sometimes..but when I am not happi, I just bite the thing off. Kekeke...Then she makes me bath in this funny smell shampoo...she say it'll make me smell nice nice...so end up I smell like a flower...but hey, I am a dog, not a flower. Mommie also likes to hug me to sleep...but I am a grown up girl..I am already 5 years old..besides I am brave enough to sleep on my own. She also likes to stare at me and kiss me till my face is all yucky with her saliver...but sometimes I lick her back until she is covered with my saliver too~ hehe...revenge is sweet. Juz the other day, mommie sneezed on my face...yuks, I was covered in saliver...i looked at her with my round eyes and she juz laughed...(dun even know how to say sorrie...so rude). Of coz I had my chances of sneezing onto her face too....keke.

I like daddy ...I am closer to mommie of cos . hee. Probably cos they don't smell like a flower. And daddy dun make me wear funnie costumes. He feeds me and play with me sometimes but most of the time he is busy. Don't understand why every morning daddy and mommie will walk very fast...I'll just sit there and look at them with my round eyes. Occasionally mommie will give me a pat or even a hug if she has the time before she dashes out of the house. Then I'll be left alone at home ...gd thing is daddy and mommie left me some toys and of cos food~ I also spend my time sleeping away while waiting for them. Keke.

Guess they're coming home soon....oh ya, to those of you who has been squeezing my face and saying "so cuteeee~" , can you pls stop doing that...wonder how you'll feel if someone pinches your face also. To my dearest mummy & daddy, please stop stepping on my tail again the next time you walk...I know I am short...if you're feeling sorry now for leaving me alone at home....I always accept treats and food. Hehe...okie....that's all bones~
