Lasik - The road to the Perfect Vision

A gentle kiss on ade's cheek.. i sat down by the side of the bed. The room is dark, shielded from all lights. ade is resting quietly by my side.. with her eyes constantly tearing... she had just undergo her lasik sugery during the morning.. and it was almost time she will wake up and have some soup...

Still can rem earlier-on, i was late to pick her up for her appointment.. hee... can see her fuming from far~ anyway.. we took a cab down to Orchard Paragon. During the journey, i can see that she was rather nervous and excited at the same time. i cheered her on and very soon, we reached our destination. It was a bright and very white place.. nice decor... i guess ade luv it too.. (very similar to our new house theme) . We waited awhile for her turn. Finally the moment has come.. Perfect vision !!! still can remember me telling her "bu yao pa" when she walked into the room... well.. to be frank... i am more "pa" than her... i guess i am a little worried about the whole thing..
After an hour or so... the doctor is done with the sugery and it was a success !! i went into the room and saw her resting.. "wat a relief", i thought.. looks like she is okie~ :)

After some rest, it was time to go back home. hee.... not easy ah... imagine... bringing her all the way from Paragon level 20 to Yishun with her eyes closed~ This got to take what people called "xin xin xiang xi" (close hearts) and we had done it... =p

Immediately after we reached home, I ready the bed for her to rest, disengaged the fone, negotiated with mum on the TV volume, got a tissue box by her side and went on to prepare some carrot soup... hee... with lots of carrots, tomatos and "gou ju zi".... heard its good for eyes... seriously i am not good in making soup... but i am lucky to have mum as my advisor. *thanks mum..
after some hastle, like almost cutting my hand while chopping the carrots, spilling water all over the shop...and some stupid onion making my eyes #!@#^*, i am ready to serve my "ai xin tang" *ahhh.. 2hrs of hard work.. hope it tastes nice~

The following is delicated for my dear..
"mk mk..must get well soon o.. me waiting for u to come out and play.. congrats on your new vision and hope u like the present."

luv..

your lao gong..

Wish List

Phew, been super busy the past few days. Just went site visiting with our reno contractor yesterday. Although not many things done to that house, but their workmanship is satisfactory. Hope he can do a better job for our house. Most probably I'll engage him as their price is REAL good and cheap. A lot of FOCs thrown in as well since he is a friend. Dear specially made time to call me earlier on. I know he is busy...me too..hehe..so I don't really blame him. He promised to get me my favorite abalone for CNY next week also. Its not that ex la..its sliced abalone..only $30 for 3 packets. Can't wait to eat them. Did my last bit of CNY groceries shopping yesterday...bought pineapple tarts, egg rolls and many other biscults..making me hungry. I hope nobody at home steals them before CNY. Since this will be the last CNY I spend with my family, gotto make it enjoyable with lotsa goodies..wow..CNY is only next week!
Amidst all the hussle of CNY, we still have our wedding to prepare for, and it suddenly dawned on me that we still need to do research for our honeymoon trip to Europe...probably will steal some time to do it when I have the time. Anyway, despite looks of disapprove from dear, i decided to go ahead with listing out my/our wish list for this year. This is to benefit friends that are intending to get us gifts but not sure what to get..hehe...dun tink it wrongly ok, I am not being practical here, but I am sure anyone that gives us something would want their gift to be appreciate rather than sitting somewhere as a white elephant right? So this is to help prevent duplicate of items given to us. Hehe..now that I've explained my intention, here goes:

My Personal Wishlist (to be given by dear dear/ family or super duper rich friends):

1. iPod Nano (White Color) - I sort of added this in cos it seems to be on everyone's else wishlist and is definitely a possession I hope to own in time to come.

2. Motorola Razer (Black Color) - Next coolest phone I want after my O2mini. Although I already have a flip phone (Samsung), I can do with this cool and slick one as well! Hehe.

3. Lasik Treatment - After wearing 15 years of specs and lenses, I decided I had enough..and finally had the courage to do this surgery, I hope everything turns out well and I can look my prettiest in our photos and on our wedding day.

Thats all. Funny, I thot it was going to be a long list..but guess that's how fortunate I am, I really don't need much things more since I've got everything.

Now for our new house Wishlist (hey, even though its only a house, it got its needs and feelings too ok):

1. 50" Plasma TV (Any brand will do as long as design looks cool and can last for at least 10years)

2. Bosh Home Theatre System 3.2 and above

3. Washing Machine 5kg (Must be small enough to fit into our toilet)

4. Ariston Induction Stove

5. Microwave Oven

6. Oven Toaster

7. Triangle Sandwich Maker

8. Water Kettle (Small and Silver in Color)

9. Rice Cooker (Small and Silver in Color)

10. Ancient Stone Buddha Head

11. Standing Type Box Fan x 4

12. Fisher & Parkel Fridge (Ask us which model we want if you really wanna buy..hehe)

13. Lastly...if you can't afford any of the above...or simply want a easy way out..CASH, CASH and more CASH! hehe.

Thats all.

Taking care of him

He told me yesterday that he nosebleed again. After seeing the last nosebleed he had, I was getting worried. Did some research on nose bleed cure and found no results. But reports said that serious nosebleed could be caused by cancer! I really hope this is not the cause for him. I decided to cook him pig liver at night...need to recover back the blood he lost. So off I rushed...left office at 6.30pm...luckily the bus came shortly after I reached the bus stop. Then changed to MRT at Ang Mo Kio..dread..never liked going to his place without car..the journey is damm long. I have to take bus, change MRT and change feeder bus again before reaching his place. Yesterday's journey took me 1hour+. Anyway, I reached Yishun Interchange and proceeded to Cold Storage to buy the ingredients to cook. I decided to cook Stir Fried Pig Liver, Chicken Soup and Toufu (I ended up with smashed toufu). Reached his house at 7.40pm..drats..my favourite TV variety show is starting at 8pm. I hurried with cooking the soup and rice first...then proceeded on with preparing the other ingredients. First time I am cooking pig liver...luckily I had some help from ma. Hee.
Called him a few times just to make sure he did not eat dinner outside, I am trying to give him a surprise by not letting him know I am at his place. He finally reached home at 9.30pm. Hee, I rushed to the door to greet him and dragged him to the kitchen. He was not really shocked to see me..but definitely he is happy. Dinner was yummy...first chicken soup I made which tasted nice..except that it was a little bitter (my first attempt of chicken soup was tasteless), the pig liver was perfect, just the way I wanted it to taste...he finished the entire plate of pig liver. Then dear told me one thing, "if you see a fat man, this means his wife is a good cook." Hehe..of cos I got the compliments I wanted to hear..afterall, all the effort in exchange for some compliments is pretty fair.
After a nice dinner, we had a "conference call" with our reno contractor. I still can't believe his quote to us is so cheap..there must be a catch somewhere..but dear keep asking me to be "openminded". Ok..I'll try. Can't wait to see the showflat they've done. Then, one of the girl he used to like called. I wanted to find out what she wants...so I asked him to call her back. Hmm..nothing special. She works as a insurance agent...so calls for a purpose I guess. Can't stand those agents...I wonder if they still have friends..one of my close Sec School friend became a agent also..and ever since then, whenever she call or sms me..it's about "do you need any financial planning?", "shall we meet up to discuss about your policies" etc...gradually I started avoiding her calls and sms..then she resorted to sending me emails of newspaper cuttings. Sighx. Don't want to hurt her feelings, so I just told her I am leaving it to my husband to manage finances. Back to this girl...ah huh, she really call becos she wants to meet dear for his financial planning. What do you think he is? A money tree which you can find when you need to hit your quota? I don't know how you look..maybe you're real chio..but using your looks and the friends around you like this, what does this make you? I would say even "pros" in geylang are more high class...they only drag customers who go geylang and who is interested. You don't see "pros" approaching their uncles or cousins for business just because they can't hit "quota" right? Phew...venting out this frustration sure feels good. Just a piece of advice for those agents out there, if someone wants to buy your products, they'll call you. You can approach your friends for leads..but calling your friends up with a motive is so undesireable. Hope such agents can change their mentally before they lose all their friends..afterall, you only have friends and family to rely on when you're old.

Our ROM

After months of preparation, it was finally the day for our ROM. We bought new clothes, new shoes for this day. Only family and close friends "our brothers and sisters" were invited. My gown was rented from Venus in JB, also my bridal studio for wedding photography. It was a bit formal but I loved the design and look. Perhaps, thats the flaw of a LEO. We woke up real early as we have arrange outdoor photography shoot at sentosa. I woke up at 6.15am to give dear a morning call as he was drunk the night before and I was worried he couldn't wake up on time to fetch the photographer. But to my surprise, he was already awake and sounded sober.
We reached Sentosa about 9.30am, not too hot and not too many people around. We had difficulty posing with our eyes open under the bright sun. So most of our photos, the eyes looked a bit wierd, those with eyes closed looked more natural though. Photos is showcased under the links by the side as well. Afterthat, we proceeded home to my place to bath and change for the afternoon ceremony. My ceremony was at 4.30pm at Cherish Suite.
My makeup artist arrived on time, she looks really pretty and totally different from what I expected her to be. Quite trendy for a woman her age..I guess she is about 30+. Opps..age is suppose to be confidential. Anyway, she managed to give me the look I wanted..except for my eyes that kept tearing and caused some problems for her..sorry about that. My makeup around that eye din stay on anyway.. but luckily it was only for a day and nobody really noticed. Perhaps they were already fansinated by my gown to bother about my makeup. Hehe.
As we wanted to go over to Chjimes for some photos before proceeding over to ROM, we had to rush a little and amidst the chaos, I forgot to bring the pass for Chjimes and dear had to run back home to get it. He was quite pissed about it. It started raining just when we boarded the car and it dampened my spirits..I was wondering, will friends come despite the rain? But fortunately, the rain stopped just when we were about to reach Chjimes. Thank God for that. We carried on with our plan as usual..phototaking...posing...
Ceremony at ROM was short but solemn, most of our friends turn up..I really thank you guys for that. Thank you Huixin for helping me with my troublesome gown...hehe..you shall be the official gown bearer for my wedding. Anyway, we went on with buffet dinner at Kuali. I had the best Turkey I ever ate..yummy...think I'll be back there for other Xmas dinner as well.
We din go for clubbing as planned as most people doesn't want to go...understandable...most are couples and they want to spend this special night together...hehe..us too. This really is a good experience for what to expect on our actual day...we definitely will be more well prepared and well rested for the day. Lastly, all I can say was...all this preparation for one day was made worth it with all our friends prescence and seeing them go off with a yummy dinner.

House Hunting

We begin our house hunting sometime in November. Something we've always looked forward to. Our own love nest. We loved the beach and would love a home with a sea view (almost impossible in Singapore unless you're really rich). So after going through a series of house in Pasir Ris, we decided to look for somewhere near our parents...becos of the parents grant discount. Hehe. Price is one of the major consideration factor. Having lived in small HDB flats all our life, we decided to have a change..I have always wanted to own a mansionette (hdb terrace-like house), and one unit in Yishun Central caught our eye. Home to another fairly young couple, the house is designed mainly in my favourite color "white"! I love the clean and modern look of the house and after some discussion, we decided to get it 2 days after. Excited at the thought of having our own house, we spent the entire night talking and dreaming of it. The owners din allow us to take photographs for fear of us stealing their ideas (real stingy couple, which we found out later).

Anyway, I am counting down 26 days to our new house...hope the day comes soon. I'll record down everything that happens during our renovation process. Meanwhile, here's a peek at the house.

Our lovely living room..real big and spacious, and a peek of the staircase to upstairs.

Master bedroom...made out of two smaller rooms.

Designer Kitchen..hehe.

Our Love Vow

We were "legally" married on the 24th December 2005. A hectic but memorable day we'll both remember. The photos can be viewed from the link at the side. And here is the customized vow I created for him:

"I vow to always keep my love, as pure as it is today. In your laughter, and your tears, in your sickness, and your health. In your comfort, and your fears, in your poverty, and your wealth.I promise to be true to you, I promise to cherish you.I give this ring, as a token, of my promise to you."

Short..but really meaningful and sweet.

TLC things he did for me

Never take someone you love or loves you for granted. Something I've learnt along the journey of life. Sometimes we tend to forget the goodness of someone, and this usually happens to me, but to just let you know how much you mean to me, this is the list of things you've done for me and I appreciate that:

- Composing a few silly but really funny songs for me.
- Inventing "tete" dance for me.
- Buying me my favourite food when I am sick or hungry.
- Delivering a whole pizza to my office when he knows I din have money for lunch.
- Showing up at my place whenever he knows I am sad.
- Always remembering to tell me how good I look even when my hair is in a mess and I dress like a "obasan".
- Scolding me whenever I am about to do something which I'll live to regret it later...
- Staying calm and being patient whenever I am being unreasonable.
- Talking sense into me although most of the time my processor has "hung".
- Calling me back whenever I hung up the phone on you, even when you're angry yourself.
- Helping me with my prawn shells...hehe.
- Buying me the things you knows I really want when you knows I don't have money.
- Trying out dangerous sports with me, like parasailing and jet ski (jet ski trip was really scary).
- Surviving numerous scary movies with me (he used to avoid scary movies, but now he can watch with his eyes wide open..compared to early days when he had to use my bag to cover his face..haha.)
- Showing up at my room window pretending he is casanova.
- Planning surprises for me.
- Cooking a meal for me...I am the first girl he cooked for..hee.
- Bringing me water when I am thirsty.
- Helping me with things I dread doing...like carrying heavy stuff.
- Always making sure I am home safely.
- Sending me sms and calling me now and then even when he is real bz becos he knows I m bored at home.

And tonnes of others sweet little things he did for me...on this note I want to say, you're the best guy I can ever marry..feel so fortunate to be loved by you. Muackz, luv ya.

The Proposal

I've always wanted to have my own house and he knows about it. Friction between my mum and me made me wanted to shift out a few times. He will always assure me that if I really do move out, he'll support me. Once he even offered to rent a room with me. Fortunately, we did not do that. Time pass real fast...soon it was our first year anniversary. Hehe..before that I was already hinting to him to propose to me everytime we had a chance. I wanted to reject him 101 times (just like in that japanese drama), and demand a big diamond ring with 999 roses on the day of proposal. On our 15th mth anniversary, 14th October 2005, he turned up at my house early in the morning. He dropped a card at my door and then called me to wake me up. The card read, "Happy 1st year anniversary....breakfast is waiting for you downstairs." I hurried with cleaning up and rushed downstairs with my present for him...I din know what to buy him..so I bought him a baby turtle. He was waiting downstairs with a sandwich which he made himself and some other food for me. Then he sent me to work. He picked me up at night and I knew he is up to something but not sure what it is. He is never good at keeping secrets from me..but this time he did pretty well. We decided to go to Fisher Man's village for dinner (a place I always loved, the pineapple fried rice there is great!). We had a sumptous dinner, after dinner, we went to one of the bench nearby for a seat. He told me he brought wine and rushed back to the car to get it. He even brought his videocam..funny. I waited for quite a while before he finally showed up with his bottle of wine...and this made me suspicious..but when I saw only the wine and wine glasses in his hands, I knew there was nothing special about tonight. I was thinking, "sighx, no present." and was kinda disappointed.

After the drink, I wanted to go back to the car and go off. As we walk back..he suddenly stopped me and asked me to wait there and close my eyes. Hehe..I always love surprises and can't help peeping, but this time I really kept my eyes closed. He led me by my hand towards the car...when I opened my eyes, he was kneeling down in front of me with a ring in his hands and to my amazement, there was a big bouquet of red roses in the backseat of the car! Wow! As he said the words, "Will you marry me.." I cried. He told me there is 999 roses in that bouquet..I couldn't believe he really did that for me. At that moment, I just feel that it is my best decision to marry him as I know he will take good care of me and love me for the rest of his life.

Our LoveStory

Our First Trip Overseas

I am a girl that loves travelling, I want to see the world before I close my eyes for good. So my poor hubby gotto bear with me for my numerous travelling requests. Our first trip was shortly after we were together. We borrowed Dad's car - Hyundai Matrix, and planned to drive along the east coast of malaysia. We didn't have any destination in mind but there is a nice beach resort along the beach which I went before and we wanted to find it again (hopefully). So we went on our first driving trip. Its the first time he drove in Malaysia so he was a bit nervous. We bought enough food for us to survive 3 days..so off we went. We went to Kota Tinggi to visit their waterfall...its the first time I see a natural waterfall..although not as impressive as what I thought, but good enough. We managed to find a fireflies tour and decided to come back that night for the tour. I was very excited about it as I've never seen real fireflies before. Misery of an urban kid eh. Then we drove along the coast again hoping to find a nice resort. We ended up in Mersing (a small fishing village). The residents there told us there is a few beach resorts nearby..so we continued on our journey. After about 2hours drive, we found a cool wooden hut type beach resort. There was another one beside it which looks nicer but the place looks deserted. But anyway we decided on the first one though. Not really cheap..each night costs about RM90+. We booked for two nights which we regretted afterwards. Perhaps it was a off-peak season, the resort din have many guests, we thought we were the only ones until we saw the next hut with a malay family the next morning. We brought mosquito repellent (luckily). Our room door was swamped with all kind of insects at night...we had to spill insect repellent on our door just to keep them away. Sleeping time was greeted by mosquito symphony..weez..weez..We drove to and fro the resort and kota tinggi for our meals for two days. The third day, we set off to drive down to Desaru where we discovered Sunggei Riggit (a small town visited by many Singaporeans for its cheap but not so tasty seafood.) It was a budget but the best trip I ever had...nice quality time with dear dear also.
The major quarrel
Like any other couples, we had our fair share of tears and joy. Quarrels were quite frequent in the early stage of our relationship. He had a bad temper and would sometimes raise his voice on me when we were talking over the phone. Two major quarrels I can remember is, once he was at my place and I was complaining about our boring weekends and how he couldn't give me what I want in terms of feeling. He broke down and cried. I tried to console him but he pushed me away. This made me cry. It was the first time he made me cry. He rushed over to wipe my tears away but I was in shock..and didn't want his comfort. When I calmed down, I told him I needed to think over our relationship again. He cried. We managed to solve this issue after few hours of talk..we knew we both loved each other and just needed to sort certain issues out. I learned that he shouldn't be the only one pressured in this relationship and he promised me he'll make efforts to improve himself.
The second quarrel was over something silly, can't remember what it is even. But I shouted at him over the phone and mentioned breakup. He agreed and hung up. I cried. He didn't call back like he always would...after thinking through, I din want us to end like this the way some of my past relationships ended (the guy just stopped calling). So I took a cab down to his place. Sadly, he din seem really affected..I was already weeping like a baby. When he saw me at the door, he let me in and hug me. This hug melted all the sadness and anger...we both loved each other.

The Sweet Beginning

It has been a while since I last blog, but this is something I've always wanted to do with my loved one. Since this is the beginning of a good new year, I shall start one again where I can record down all the nice and sweet things of our love story and read it over and over again till we grow old. For a start, we met through friendster in year 2004. He was one of the guys that messaged me with an old-fashion "pick up" line. (Hhee..I know you will kill me for this.) We metup 3 months after we knew each other..or rather we finally had time to meet up. We were both recovering from our last broken relationship and probably just needed more friends to fill up our empty spaces..

First meeting, at Orchard MRT.
I was early...couldn't stand guys that are late..but he was on time. Counting down the minutes, I was trying to look my best..hehe..must leave good first impression ma. Finally my handphone rang, he has reached. As we hold on to our phone, we acknowledge each other. Hmm..dear, something I never really told you, first impression you looked quite handsome to me. Hehe..of cos mustn't tell you then..if not you'll get "hao lian". We went for dinner at Mos Burger and then he asked me if I wanted to join his friends for clubbing. Hearing this, my thought was, he must be feeling quite bored with me and therefore wants to include his friends. So I sort of labelled him "just a normal fren and nothing more". But to cut the story short, we end up catching a show at Lido - "Chronicals of Riddick" (we even bought the DVD for keepsake) It was real cold in the theatre and I had to use a piece of clothes which I bought earlier on to shelter me from the cold. He din offer any help though as he is feeling quite cold himself.

14th July 2004
Our love story begin when one day he turned up suddenly at my place..I met him downstairs and we took a short stroll..then he held my hand..and asked me if I could be his gf..hehe..he told me actually he wanted to ask long ago but didn't had the courage..and seeing me made the feeling right..I was the girl he wants. =) Blush*
